many memories including 1955 when only 5 years old little muskieman was taken by his father to see X play and beat UC. His first basketball game.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

In addition to X games and Cyclone games, I remember my dad taking me to see an ABA exhibition game between the Kentucky Colonels and the San Diego Conquistadors...coached by Wilt the Stilt Chamberlin. A big big man.

Yep, that's unfortunate. Sad that there is no other use for the art deco structure. Maple Leaf Gardens Jr. Beatles played there, and i recall as a kid seeing the Nate Archibald and Johnny Green Royals take down Wilt and Jerry West Lakers in there. It was incredible. I'd also have to put the X v Loyola Mar. Hank Gathers/Bo Kimble game right up there. Wild times. I'll also always remember as a kid watching the Dean Smith led Cincy Swords. Rick Dudley, John Gould, et. al. Those were great times. Last but not least, Billy Idol and the White Wedding Tour.

Re: Butler County Steak Fry- Wed June 15
My favorite was the OT game against U Mass when they were #1, loudest I ever heard it.
Saw 'early' Chicago and Wilson Picket among others.
Loved it when sUCks played their home games there with the Xavier logo'd floor

I'd love to buy the seats I had and possibly some of the other stuff that possibly still in there.

Re: End for the Gardens
So many great memories there! My first concert: Rod Stewart; Royals games with my dad; Xavier basketball; Cyclones; and a lot in between. I remember during the Xavier era, behind the upper deck there was a condiment stand built into the wall that was never used. There was a mustard stain on the wall and I always told my friends "I'll meet you at the mustard stain." It's probably still there. I will have to get some seats!

Sad, but I guess the Rollergirls just aren't enough to keep the doors open. So many wonderful memories but please indulge me to share a few of my favorites.
1) Sitting in the folding chairs behind a basket before the start of the second half of a NBA Royals-Knicks game, Walt "Clyde" Frazier comes out early and for some reason sits a few chairs down from us.
2) Paying $55 total for season tickets the first year Xavier made the CG their full time home (Section 18, Row O behind the X bench in the lower section).
3) X- Ohio State NIT OT victory. I couldn't hear my friend next to me. The loudest sporting event I've ever been too.
4) X-UC OT victory when X got the ball back on a controversial UC turnover. Jumpin Jamal hit a huge 3 point shot from the cornerto seal the victory.
Thanks I feel better now
