Has anyone ever seen a team play defense where all 5 players were in the paint virtually the whole time?????? That was insane... If our shot was going down this would have been a blow out... UMass's plan was working at first but the 2nd half was a different story... A win is a win and the conference... Now lets go beat the Billikens!

Re: UMass
That was UMass's MO to beat Xavier tonight; pack it in and dare our backcourt to knock down the 3s. GW did it to a tee 2 weeks ago, but Xavier was just as effective against UMass on the defensive end. They kept milking down the shot clock to limit possessions throughout the game.

Re: UMass
If UMass had an O game they might have won this game but they score about as much as DC Muskie.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: UMass
Ugh - dismal offensive effort, but as you write a win is a win.
One would think that after about seven games XU might try something new to beat the "pack-it-in" approach by opponents.
Weird how the offense just suddenly goes stagnate.
Kudos to Jerri Taylor in the game for continuing to fire away and shoot herself out of the 0-for-10 first half.
Hester took a pretty good shot at the end of the first half, if she goes down, the perimeter scoring game would be reduced to Tudy and Jerri. Aly has shown a little promise, so she'd get her shot in the rotation.
Hang on, ride might get a little bumpy with Rhode Island, Temple, Dayton and Charlotte coming up.
