Re: It's OFFICIAL
Based on all the teams that are leaving the old Big East, UC will be the oldest BE school left in the new football conference. I suggest they call this new "non BCS football conference" the UC+All the New Guys Conference. I was trying to come up with the ANAL Conference as a name. Like All Nerds Anal League, but it just did not flow. LOL

They'll make that up in a year in the new league. Plus, I have a feeling if they did a fundraising campaign they would probably get a lot of it pretty quickly. I'd donate $100...just don't tell my wife!akronmuskie wrote:I guess the new TV contract will cover the 2 mil early exit fee from the A 10?

Don't agree. That is not what recent history suggests.LHSMuskie wrote: The A10 has been good for X. Getting into the Dance will be a lot tougher now.
The Big East, probably because of the intense media coverage it has gotten, was regularly getting multiple at-large bids - sometimes as many as 7 or 8 teams invited. So even the teams in the middle of the conference standings have been getting invitations. Let's face it, the number of people following the different conferences has an impact on the selection committee.
I highly recommend to all reading the comments to the ESPN article. If you think this blog has crazy posters, get a load of the vitriolic commentary in response to that article. WOW!
One person has repeatedly attacked XU! Wonder if it is a very very unhappy UC fan?

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
