Re: It's OFFICIAL
I guess the new TV contract will cover the 2 mil early exit fee from the A 10?

Wow. Very fun. While the quality of basketball at least improves by getting away from A10 bottom feeders, we get a real boost in exposure. This alone is bound to help recruiting and the process of moving Xavier up among the elite bball programs in the country.
Starting the league next year also allows us to enter the new league with what should be a very strong team. As stated in another thread, let's just enjoy the last few weeks of this year, and move forward knowing next year a new door opens...

Fox is transforming Speed TV into Fox Sports 1 and Fuel TV into Fox Sports 2 (or some other similar names). As a Comcast subscriber, I didn't get Fuel TV this year, but it should be available before next year starts. I'm guessing most games will be broadcast on the new channels or Fox, depending if Fox wants to start airing college basketball like they aired college football this past season. Heck, we may even get some games called by Gus Johnson again.

Maybe the most interesting part of the article: "While Butler, Xavier and a team yet to be determined are expected to join the new Big East this fall, the Catholic 7 schools are also expected to add Creighton, Dayton and St. Louis in 2014 for a 13-team league." I hope Creighton gets in I think they would be a great addition.

I also read in the ESPN story that UD and St. Louis will join new Big East Conference in 2014. And here I was hoping we'd be able to leave the Cryers behind!

I wish VCU could sneak in. Not a big UD fan. I want Ohio all to ourselves.

My sentiments exactly. UD didn't think twice about leaving X behind in the MCC for the Great Midwest in the early 90's, so why should we care about them being left behind in the A-10? I would think VCU is the other team being added this year if it isn't Richmond.xukeith wrote:I wish VCU could sneak in. Not a big UD fan. I want Ohio all to ourselves.
