Marquette, as a program, certainly WAS a step up from X at one point. I'd say it isn't now, and the main/only thing it has going for it is its Big East affiliation.

Here's an easy way to decide if it's a step up-our coach decided to pass on the IU job, and MU's coach decided to take it.

The difference between our program with Bobinkski at the helm, versus Dawn Rogers, is amazing.

I can not believe I am saying this but Dawn did hire Sean. We can all thank her for that.

Now that we have Mike we might keep Sean a lot longer.

True, and I was thinking that myself. But if you recall, there was a lot of criticism at how quickly she hired Miller without really looking at other available options, and it appeared to be more of a desperation hire than anything else.

But, yes, it has worked out well for X, whether she lucked out or it was a genius move.

I really do not think it was any where close to a desperation hire. Anyone with an ounce of sense could see Miller as the next head coach the day Matta brought him to his staff.

I do believe that Mike Bobinski was involved in the decision, maybe only as a "consultant", but he was "consulted"!

I certainly don't disagree that hiring Miller has worked out very well for X, but I'm sure you remember the criticism about Rogers' haste in making the move, and not taking the time to at least consider other candidates.

Plus, if I recall, there was some urgency re making a decision sooner rather than later.

Not in my book. I was a Sean supporter before day one. I was asked by Dawn my opinion of who the next coach should be(she must have been polling everyone to get to me) and I stated the best hire was Sean. She asked me why and I spent the next 5-10 minutes telling her. I think she got the point that Sean was #1 in my book.
