This was posted due to the insight of the live source who provided it directly to me, not from a Board I don't even read. Should you chose, you have every right to be skeptical.

Admittedly, a mea maxima culpa will be in order if the information is wrong.

All of us on MM are intently following this important matter. Be assured, if it were mere speculation it would be so designated.
Obviously, I was being a smart ass. Please pay no attention, I don't doubt your source.

I think the Muskies could survive quite nicely without UD coming along once again for the ride. I'd much prefer a really successful program joining us: Creighton, if 10 is the conference number of the day. They outdraw UD (#6 in the nation in average attendance!) and the metro population of Omaha is greater than that of Dayton and growing at almost 3 times the rate of Dayton's growth. And their on-court record (both overall and especially in-conference) exceeds UD's over the last 5-10 years.

Let's get the best while the gettin' is good!
Fathers James Hoff and Michael Graham, AD Mike Bobinski, and Head Coaches Staak, Gillen, Prosser, Matta, Miller, & Mack represent a Golden Era of Xavier Men's Basketball. AD Christopher and Head Coach Steele will bring us to an even higher level!

The team not currently being mentioned that I'd like to see included is VCU.

VCU's been mentioned in virtually every article I've seen written on the subject from any CBB writer.

I like the 12 team league that you mentioned. It would sure make our home schedule much more interesting than it is in the A-10. There would be no competitors that would make us consider staying home on a given game night.

I agree re 10 v. 12. The larger number is by no means unwieldy, and allows the new league to include more good programs.

Per Bleacher Report
The first evidence of this can be found on a winter night inside downtown Omaha’s CenturyLink Center, home to Creighton University men’s basketball team. The Bluejays perform in front of over 13,000 in average attendance, often exceeding 17,000. This places them in the top 25 in national attendance year in and year out. That’s not bad for a mid-major Missouri Valley team whose main rivals are Northern Iowa, Wichita State and Southern Illinois.

I'd rather see Dayton than Creighton for a couple selfish reasons:

#1 I like playing them twice a year and beating them
#2 I can go to a road game in Dayton while i'm not driving to Omaha, ever.
#3 I think their recent run is as comparable as Creightons

It is easy to understand that Xavier is deserving, due to the hard work put in by several folks leading up to this juncture! By comparison, some of the programs/universities in the A-10 consciously chose to NOT upgrade programs nor facilities. It makes infinite sense to assess such factors when considering other programs for inculsion in a new conference...primary question: Have they put in the work necessary? Translation: commitment to the basketball program.
