Bobo needs to reward Mller and staff with another financial/reward/extension package, and he must also do everything to increase that buyout. If Indiana cannot afford it (and thats a rumor at this point) then that leaves a very select few schools that can in the future.

While watching TV I read on the ticker that IU will name a coach by next Thursday. What if Xavier gets to the Final 4? (Obviously it would not be him they were talking about)

Unfortunately, Millers name will always be at the top of every schools list until he says no enough times... ala Mark Few. You don't hear his name mentioned anymore even though they consistenlty win.

Honestly, at this point in time, if I were a college coach I would prefer the XU job over IU. Now, $$$ can affect things, but just from a basketball perspective, XU is ahead of IU. I realize tradition and history are on the side of the Hoosiers, but Xavier currently has a better team, is getting a great class of freshman next year, and could have an even better group entering the following season. Hopefully Miller agrees and feels this way about XU compared to any other team with a possible opening. Look, if there's an opening somewhere, it probably means that the current situation isn't too good (unless a guy like Dixon leaves for another gig).

They had the buy out a million bucks or more too low. And I don't think Indiana's that big a step up from Xavier, considering what's ahead of them in Bloomington and what's ahead for Sean, including a raise and possible extension.

I heard the job was offered to Bennett but the only people that don't accept that is Bennett and IU. If the buyout is to rich for Indiana, that's because how much money they are on the hook for the previous coaches. I heard over $3mm. If Miller leaves, that would the only school unless Pitt opens up. The main thing is that I keep hearing that Miller can't talk to other programs having gotten a raise every year. He needs to squash these quickly so it doesn't affect recruiting. When Gillen left, Prosser was left with very little by his second year. Skip just did a nice job finding talent (Lumpkin, Brown, Posey, Williams)

Expert if you listen to him he has squashed them. He has stated that he is staying. You can believe him or think he is pulling a Matta but not every coach is a coach Matta.

Muskieman is right. He says he's staying for a long time. He has not been a liar and there is no reason he will follow in the footsteps of his predecessor. Rest of the discussion on wwhere he "might" go is moot and somewhat pointless. Let's move on.

Most recruits will wait to commit until everything shakes out in the coaching circles.

Let's also not forget about the Mighty Mac. He is also an extremely valuable coach that I would hate to see go elsewhere. Dean Smith's #1 asst was with him for over 30 years. Here's to keeping Miller and Mack - the true MM.
