X conf. road schedule a LOT harder than UD's

Postby Mr. Neutral » Tue Jan 22, 2008 7:54 am

We know that anything can happen on the road, but looking at UD's A-10 road games, other than Thursday, their only likely loss is at URI, and possibly GW.

X has to face UMass, URI, UD, St. Joe's, Charlotte, and the dreaded SLU on the road.

X has to win every home game and get at least 3 of the above 6.

Totally agree. We need all 8 home victories and need to at least go .500 on the road. A 12-4 record would be great.

I'm not sure which way I would rather have it honestly.

Playing our schedule where we will not be favored in 3-4 of our road games, or playing Dayton's where they will be favored in almost all of their road games.

I get the feeling X plays not to lose when favored on the road. It should remove some of the pressure on them knowing that their facing a good team on their home court and are not expected to win.

Agree completely. 3 of the above 6 would be huge. That would give us 4 & 4 on the road. Sunday will be critical following what takes place on Thursday night. Can we follow up with a win on the road?

Plus, a first round bye in the A-10 tournament will be huge this year.

I hope the players are focused on Thursday, but I worry more about UMASS. A quick turn around from Thursday at 8:00 against a rival to Saturday at 12:00 against a quality opponent and the travel as well. This seems depressingly like the formula that led to the egg that was ASU.

Here is a chance to prove that some lesson was learned by the ASU game.
You got to be ball ready when "showtime" Sherwin Anderson is on the floor.
