Chanting at Drew

Postby tripster01 » Mon Feb 25, 2008 8:17 am

It was hard to understand what the fans were chanting every time Drew had the ball. What was it ?

"air ball" as a result of a very early attempt in the first half. But they kept it up the rest of the game. Shows just how backwoods they are.

Did you hear them shut up after he buried his free throws to ice the game?

Do the UD fans still boo Chris Mack?

I knew where there was a thread about the "air ball" chant I would find peashooter.

I half expect that peashooter was caught yelling air ball until he remember it was against Drew.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I'd rather have them chant "airball" which is normal. I'm just glad they didn't throw batteries.

MM, "Airballs" or "Bourbon balls" -- you know that life is about balance. I wasn't there, but drendo74 was. I was home breakin' my cable box looking for CSTV. :geek:

BTW, did you "commune" with the refs?

I dislike UD as well, but I have to disagree with this statement. Any good student section chants "airball" at a player who misses everything on a shot. The reason they kept it up the rest of the game is because, if memory serves right, Drew didn't hit a shot the rest of the game that was a true jump shot. They should have kept it up. They shut up when Drew hit the free throws to ice the game.

They did what a good student section did. Their fans were amazing the whole game. I go to a small college in Indiana, and would give anything to have that sort of atmosphere.

do ud fans ever embarrass themselves?? they were chanting "AIR BALL" long after the game had been decided. at least they weren't chanting "OVERRATED" despite the fact that they had lost. that would be pathetic, but considering that they wear 'BEAT XAVIER' shirts to games where they aren't even playing xavier, after they've lost to xavier, and then chanting AIR BALL at stanley, i wouldn't put it past them.

When you have the limited wardrobe, you wear what you have. Remember the tee-shirt is their sunday best.
