Jimmie Binnie

Postby XU 87 » Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:47 pm

I still remember from 4 years ago when our Dayton friends were bragging about the fab 5. They refused to listen when I said that the fab 5 wasn't that good. I pointed out that one Jimmie Binnie chose UD over Valpo.

Today, Binnie started and played 17 minutes without scoring a point or taking a shot. He also missed both of his free throws.

I will miss Jimmie Binnie.

what a waste of basketball shoes.

When he was at the line today, I thought "well he has his tats"
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Come on fellas. We're better than this.

No one on this board could even sniff D-1 basketball, so we're going to take cheap shots at a young man that none of us even know??? I hate UD as much as the next guy, but no need to take unneccessary shots at their players. He's busted his tail for a good university and basketball program for 4 years, he should be applauded for that, not subject to pot shots from the peanut gallery.

Also, the last time I checked, just about every member of our team has tatoos as well....

Great call-I feel bad for him. I'm sure he was a hell of player in high school. I didn't appreciate it when UD fans ripped Odia and even Graves and Jackson earlier this year, let's not match their lack of class. Binnie has has some good moments for UD-it's just that UD hasn't been terribly successful.

Besides, he's getting ripped horribly by UD fans on their board. The kid could use a friend or two right now...

from a shooting aspect, i'd be lying if i said binnie hasn't been an underachiever from what i expected. he was billed as a great shooter out of high school, but he never consistently showed it at the college level.

as far as hustle and effort, there is no doubt he does deserve praise. the kid plays hard and does give it his all, he just isn't athletic enough to make a huge impact consistently.

No one on this board could even sniff D-1 basketball,

And for the last 4 years Binnie has proved he did not deserve that sniff either. I feel for the kid but he is at best a DII player and might have had more success there.

None of us on this board could sniff D-2 basketball either.

Binnie is a decent role player for Dayton. Not everyone given a D-1 scholarship can be a star.

There have been plenty of X players very similar to Binnie who played 4 years and graduated that I was very proud to have as part of the program.

Yeah he is in the same league as Sandoval... Huelsman..... Warren.....
dayton is full of role players but none know their roles.

Speak for yourself, idiot.
