Does this team need a loss prior to the ncaa tourney? Would it do any good? Could it be a bad thing?

this team has had enough "character building" losses...now just need to win out and get a 2 seed.

Learn from a loss but don't wish them on X.

in the league tourney finals, maybe. Get another team in the dance perhaps. I hate to have a long streak going into the dance.

I forget who said it, but the only thing you learn or take benefit from a loss is how to lose. It's a non-winning situation.

I don't know, IU had a long winning streak going into the tourney once.
A good team takes one at a time and doesn't rest on their laurels.

You could also make the argument that a loss could hurt their confidence and lead to more losses. There are no 'good losses'. Tiger Woods enters every tournament thinking he'll win and he's shocked when he doesn't win. Thats not over-confidence, thats just loving to compete and and being confident of your skills and preparation.

XU has already had 4 losses this season and I think they have learned from all of them. They don't need any more. Keeping the streak going will only continue to build their confidence.
The only way I would want a loss would be in the A-10 tourney in order to give the guys who are banged up a little extra time to recover for the NCAA's.
