Hey guys…just wanted to give everyone the link to this webpage I found with Cinderella team rankings. We’re in 1st right now...no surprise there. I guess they are updating it every week from now until Selection Sunday.

I want to know how you can consider the #10 team in the country who will likely be a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tournament a cinderella?
That is pretty stupid.

<<The best team in the best non-major league. >>
Well, they did describe X in pretty accurate terms above.
BYU, So. Alabama and Nevada are also Cinderellas, so it's not exactly bad company. If we ever get to the point where we have 1 Sweet 16 and 1 Elite Eight in school history, we'll be thought of as more of a "major" player.

I think we have a 16 and 8 already, don't we?

We've done well with ...
Eggs-Zavier
Xavier (Ohio)
Mid-major
If we make a Final Four, we'll have less and less to worry about.

"pick" & "xcell" : Mr.N surely knows well XU has seen the Sweet 16 & Elite 8 andd he did NOT inadvertently omit "more" from his sentence.
He does mean XU is now already a major program and should not be classified in any way a "cinderella" team.

Au contraire, I did inadvertently leave out "more than". As of this point in time, we're a very good program that really hasn't made the noise in the NCAA that you might think we would have, given all the 20+ win seasons and NBA players we've produced.

sorry Mr N; I mistook your renowned "neutrality" for subtle sarcasm; still I cannot accept you place XU in a "cinderella" category (which seems a step below the dreaded mid-major label).
Turning to your points of 20+ wins and NBA products, IMO those points counter the "cinderella" story. I understand several years where XU under-achieved or at least found ways to squander prime opportunities, but those years would not lead to XU being cinderella this year.

If you define an NCAA "Cinderalla" as a team unlikely to, based on past performance, make the Final Four, or even the Elite Eight, then we do fit that category, as we've never made a FF and only one EE. So, our making either of those would be a high-water mark in school history, and certainly not something you could predict based on our past tournament performances, which have always been a 1st or 2nd round loss except for two occasions.
