he was held to a season low 21, but did make his 118th 3 pointer this year (a michigan record).

Re: Brad Redford
I love it when 21 points is a down point in a kid's senior season. While there are high school kids like this all over the country who just dominate their opposition, I am glad we are getting one. From what I have heard and what I have seen on youtube etc., I think he is going to one of our greats, who, while he never plays in the NBA, ends up a respected D1 coach somewhere. Someone like Travis Ford or Sean himself. With the athleticism and depth we will have during his years at X, he is going to hit a hell of a lot of threes and free throws. Can't wait... Let's hope Sean sticks around to be his mentor...

Re: Brad Redford
It is nice to know the man can put it in the basket. And based on where those threes are made he will have no trouble with the new 3 point line next year.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Tacitus,
Sean Miller will be at Xavier to coach Redford throughout his four-years at Xavier. Bet on it.

Re: Brad Redford
WKRQ, I'm more than willing to bet on it.
Muskieman, are they really going to extend the three point line next year? I haven't heard about that in a long time...

Re: Brad Redford
He'll earn over a million after this year or next (after incentives). And the better he does, and the more money that pours into the program, the more he will get in the future. He's a rising star coaching an already respected, but still rising program. Nothing but potential/promise for the future all around. Why leave? Why go to IU, where you can't build your own program, but have to fit their mold: a Bobby Knight with restraint and social etiquette. Why suffer scrutiny until you bring home another title, when you can be responsible for a university winning its first NCAA title?

Re: Brad Redford
Sean Miller = Skip Prosser
A two to three "term" coach, well respected, possibly on to other things.
Sean may also = Mark Few. He hasn't gone anywhere.
You can't discount that he likes Cincinnati. He likes Xavier. It's scrappy and a bit of an underdog like him.
He knows there is a fallacy about major programs being relevant year in and year out. Xavier is more than relevant and he's bringing it all that much higher.
He's a perfect fit. In the end, if he gets away to anywhere other than Pitt, it will be XU's fault.

Re: Brad Redford
I was at the game and sat with the Branch Run fans (only seat left in the house). The game was sold out and there were probably another 100 fans or so standing on both ends of the court. The Branch Run fans were ecstatic to hold him to 21 points. He also had 8 assists, and could have had 20 if his teammates could hit a few more shots. He was double teamed everywhere he went. He's forced to create his shots. Like everyone else, I had read that he's the tallest player on his team at 6', and it's true. His team plays M2M defense so Brad takes the other teams big man, in this case a kid who was about 6'4" and probably had 40 pounds on Brad. He's banging down on the low block, working his tail off to get rebounds, then brings the ball up the court as their point guard at least 50% of the time. The team they played is their local rival so it was a huge game - something like the Moeller St. X rivalry in Cincinnati, and Brad played every single minute. As the game ended, his coach subbed out each of his seniors one at a time. Brad was the last one taken off and the Branch Run fans gave him a standing ovation. He's gonna be fun to watch develop at Xtacitus wrote:I love it when 21 points is a down point in a kid's senior season.
