Throwback night at the Gardens?

Here is my idea:
Xavier plays (about) one game per year at local neutral site, US Bank Arena. What if, instead of US Bank Arena, Xavier plays that game at Cincinnati Gardens and wears their "throwback" uniforms for that game, as sort of a throwback night? They seem to be doing about one throwback uniform game per year. Maybe more people would show up for that instead of the pathetic showing for the KSU game downtown.
Any takers?
Go Muskies!

actually, that would be awesome. I would like to play a solid MAC school there every year. Get the nice RPI boost for a neutral game, but we know better.

a fun idea, but as long as Xavier tried to get out of The Gardens, I can't imagine them going back. Have you been past The Cincinnati Gardens lately? I'm afraid a return would ruin the good memories. She's history.

The Gardens is a pit compared to the Cintas. I'm not nostalgic for 1950s trough urinals, traffic jams, muddy parking lots, the smell of burnt pizza, competing with gun and knife show patrons for parking...yadda...The fans are further from the floor. And we pay rent for such a game, lose revenue to pay off those pesky bonds for the Cintas. If we are going to goback, lets go back to Schmidt.

A game at schmidt would be amazing... I think we would beat any team in the country at that place. I think we should schedule Duke, and play them at neutral Schmidt Field House in Cincinnati, OH. There should be no ticket sales. Just the first 5,000 fans to show up with their Xavier ID, a six pack of beer and lots of face paint (no shirts), would be admitted. Everyone else can watch on the scoreboard at Cintas. Just one game... please...

Lets not forget the sticky footprints on the seats from the hockey game the night before, the bathroom stalls with the doors removed, and the cold and clammy not-so-hot pretzels. I hope we never play there again. The KSU attendance was donw due to it being New Years Eve, no Huggs, and the cost of the ticket.

the gardens would be awesome...one nice thiing about the place was that it allowed for walk up sales b/c it wasn't always sold out, capacity was 11,500. it resulted in x growing their fan base b/c people who lived nearby that didn't go to x could buy a cheap ticket and get their drink on and get rowdy. it was much louder there than at the cintas.

The Gardens is a dump and probably unfit for use.Who the hell even plays there anymore other than high school hockey. Thanks for the memories but no to ever stepping foot in there again-I'm afraid my foot would be stuck to the floor!
