I took a minute this morning to visit UDPride after their loss to DOOKANE last night. Needless to say, spirits are not high there. However, there was one post I found particularly amusing...
A Solution
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am concerned about what is going on with UD BBall right now. My solution - UD should drop Division I BBall. Wait - hear me out. Think of the benefits:
John R will be able to buy non-red clothes for his wardrobe.
We won't have to interact with any _avier fans any longer. It won't matter how long it has been since we won there because we have no team.
We can give back those wins to Pitt and UL as they were tainted by their injuries and don't have to face the logical contradiction that our recent woes have nothing to do with injuries.
We'll no longer have to ever feel embarassed or humiliated because our team lost.
We won't have to face up to the fact that Bobby Knight won't even consider our coaching job.
We won't have to be embarassed by losing to WSU in the first round of the NIT - or as the deeper naysayers state - not even getting in the NIT.
Posters will no longer embarass themselves by exhibiting uncharitable behavior towards some individuals playing with 100% effort but lacking the physical skills we wish they had.
The faculty will no longer be at a disadvantage in securing federal grants that they can't get now because of the woeful reputation UD has because of its team.
We won't have to face the empty seats in the lower arena that no one will buy as those blue-hairs die off.
Most of all, people can just chill out a bit and get a life.

Knock on wood!
Actually, I did think about this... Remember BRob @ Xavier had the flu? See Burrell @ Charlotte. Remember Chas Little and Wright out against X? See Drew last night.
My point is that good teams find ways to pick up the slack on a given night with other parts of their game. X is a good team. UD is not.
Drew had a flat tire, and Burrell was under the weather, yet X found a way to win again in a hostile environment against a sure to be A10 first teamer in Goldmire Leewire.

Shadow, I implore you, take the post off...it's bad karma. No I'm not superstitious. Well, I guess I am on this one issue. Don't even suggest injuries might happen, let alone specific ones.
