Musketeers Grew A Little More
X passed as tough a test as there is! Gutted out a road win with BIG players out on fouls. That had to be terrific team emotional lift as the Marchin' Muskies had not had a W like that this year. It will help them down the 'ROAD' to experience that pressure already. Burrell must be beat up running through all those picks! Josh Duncan had a great game, nice inside work. C.J. Anderson To The Rim! Guards handled incredible pressure! Now let's put some heat on St. Joe's.

After the game all I could think was the X teams of the past few years would have lost that game at the end. Happy for the win, but I swear to god Xavier is going to be the leading cause of my heart attack.

I agree... in years past this would have been a choke. I even called into the Thad Matta show a couple seasons back and asked him why we suck so bad when we have the ball at the end of the game and don't even get a shot off. Why don't we have a "picket fence" play that we pull out of the hip pocket when we need to get a decent look at the basket. It kinda pissed him off, and he got all defensive about how hard it is to design a play, blah blah blah.
Not only did we get a shot off last night, but we had several guys crashing the boards and the tip-in sealed the victory. I think that's a huge difference between an almost-great team and a great team. We have a great team this season, IMO.

While I agree that it's good to see them pull out a tough road game, it's quite another thing to say "X passed a tough a test as there is"...I'm pretty sure we can't say that when we beat SLU.xuhuh! wrote:X passed as tough a test as there is! the test was....X had not been able to win @ SLU since what? 89-90? that in itself was a step forward. it could have been a different result. i give them a passing grade, W.drudy23 wrote:While I agree that it's good to see them pull out a tough road game, it's quite another thing to say "X passed a tough a test as there is"...I'm pretty sure we can't say that when we beat SLU.xuhuh! wrote:X passed as tough a test as there is! But to say that beating SLU on there home floor as "as tough a test as there is" may get you committed in some states.
