Yesterday the NCAA Mock Selection committee was held with several hoops sportswriters (Andy Katz of ESPN and Mike DeCourcy were participants.)

Anyway, here's the blog of the event from Sporting News:

Ouch, I think StJ just took a left turn and does not have a GPS on the bus.

I liken the results of the Duquesne disaster to what used to happen to us when we would marshal all of our energy to beat UC, then have a huge letdown afterwards. The Hawks were determined to beat Nova. The entire school was amped up. They were bound to have a letdown, and playing 4 games in 8 days with 7...now 6...players, with archrival Nova and Xavier on the road, it is just too much to ask.

I like our chances Sunday. If Martelli pulls a rabbit, or a hawk, out of his hiney at the Cintas, it will save their season and get my vote for Coach of the Year.

"The one qualification for the opening-round game is that two historically black schools cannot play one another."

- I never knew this.
