11-9 overall, 3-4 in the A10.
RPI #114, SOS #73
"Bad" losses-#145 Missouri St., #227 GW (both away)
"Good" wins-#20 URI, #25 UMass (both at home)
Lost 4 of their last 7, including a 1-pt. OT home loss to Temple
Leading scorers-Kevin Lisch (13.5), Tommy Liddell (12.1)
This will probably be yet another excruciating game for X, but given that SLU is a team in transition, a winnable game for X.

Re: SLU so far
SLU under Soderberg went after our guards, and esp Stan. I think he had an absolute collar there his sophomore year.
We have more weapons this year, and I think that Love may have good game in the post.

Re: SLU so far
X should be able to dominate in the paint, I ha1ve watched first hand as SLU struggles inside the paint. They have almost no one, at least no one on a regular basis. CJ, Brown, Josh, and Love should be able to have their way, but sometimes what XU should be able to do and what they end up doing arent the same on the road, and against SLU. I cant wait for the game though should be a good one.

SLU's defense is really pretty damn good also, which I forgot to talk about. Their pace of play helps their defense a lot too, its almost excruciating to watch sometimes though.

1/22/06: X loses 59-54 in Cincy, Burrell leads the team with 16 pts., but shoots 5-16 w/4 TO's.
2/5/06: X loses 61-47 in St. Louis, SB goes 0-4, but virtually the whole team shot terribly.
1/13/07: X loses 76-65 in St. Louis, SB goes 1-8, team shoots 26% in 1st half
2/7/07: X wins 76-57 in Cincy, SB scores 19 pts. on 7-14 shooting.
So, yes, SB's had problems in 3 of 4 games against SLU, as did most of our other players. New coach, new system, maybe it's time for our shooting to be less abysmal in St. Louis.

How is StL drawing at home? Is their crowd disruptive? I have no recollection of this.

Re: SLU so far
I have seen SLU play a few times and their D is not their problem most of the time. They will pack it in if they feel our big guys will be able to score but I say they zone us like they have a few teams and with their slow down game the opportunities will be reduced so we must score at a good clip and rebound on the O side. Liddell seemed to give us headaches the last few years.
I'd like to see X get a big lead which would cause SLU to play catch up which they have a hard time doing. Keep their scoring down like X has the last 5-10 games and score at a reasonable clip and it should be a win.
Make life miserable for Rick.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Duncan need 21 to get to 1,000 maybe he can do it against slu. If he does it will be all good for X in the land of the big Arch.

Re: SLU so far
SLU has probably been drawing, and this is a rough estimate, about 8,000 a game. However this game will be larger, and the campus is going all out for this one, flyers everywhere, giving free tickets out to the hospital, and declaring it a "Blue Out" game, giving away free shirts when you buy your ticket. Should be a good crowd. I'll be there cheering my butt off for my muskies to get their first win at SLU since they joined the A10.CarlosTheJackal wrote:How is StL drawing at home?
