I just don't see Jackson as a full-time PG. He's got SG/SF written all over him. I could be wrong.

Assuming it' s Lyons next year, when was the last time X handed the starting PG spot to a freshman?

Point guard has been my biggest concern for the future also, but, Sean should know point guard talent and that doesn't seem to be a priority on his recruiting list. I do think Jackson will be a much better player next year when he gets more playing time. When you have two guards like Lavender and Burrell that are capable of playing a lot of minutes at a high level it's hard to justify playing time for the freshmen and sophomores. To me, it's amazing how well Drew and Stanley play defense and almost never get in foul trouble. Have either of them fouled out this year?

Didn't Lumpkin start as a freshman?

I agree that point guard is going to be an issue next year but I think it's a little premature to write off Jackson and Graves. The reason they aren't getting a whole lot of PT is because the 2 guys in front of them are seniors playing great.I'll trust Sean enough that he knows what he's doing.Plus why are we worrying about next year already!

I agree that Jackson has the make up of a PG. He isn't going to be a PG in the mold of Drew or Chalmers, but he the kind of kid who can lead out on the court and recognize D's early enough.

Point guard will be a concern but we all had concerns before this year and last year started. Sean was a point guard so maybe he wants to mold a player or two into a point guard in his style. Bronson may not work out but don't forget McLean. Next years team will be quite different in play from this year and I'd rather enjoy this year and worry about next...because you may never get there.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

<<Didn't Lumpkin start as a freshman?>>

Yes, but not initially. Skip began the season with the senior backcourt of Sherwin Anderson and Kenny Harvey as the starters, but soon realized that Lumpkin and Brown were the future, and so they became our starting backcourt at some point.

Anderson became a good backup PG (wish we had someone like him now, or next year).

Lumpkin peaked in his sophomore year, and never became the player it looked like he could become.

We'll certainly have a different look next year but I think Jackson, Graves and Lyons will handle point guard one way or another. I'm not worried about it. Miller's staff scouted these guys and I trust them more than our speculative analysis.

Agree. in the back of mind I'm hoping we can get the ball up the floor so Brown, Love and Frease can dominate in the paint while Redford and Raymond nail some 3's.
