One stat box anomaly is 1-9 from the floor from BJ. I wasn't at the game, so I defer to those who were: Is he getting open looks and it's not going down, is he forcing shots, a combo? Shooters go in cycles, so I would like to see him get the shooting eye back and in form for the tough coming battles in league, the A10 and beyond.

I am also wondering if having to concentrate on his D to justify more floor time (23 min) is taking away that spontaneity that a pure shooter feels when his main, if only, job is to find a spot and fire away without a concience.

BJ does not normally take ill-advised shots and that was also the case last night. He's just in a shooting slump. That will change abruptly just like his normal hot shooting streak changed to cold.

I was at the game. He didn't take any bad shots, he was just off. Shooters have to keep shooting. BJ has the green light. You'll just have nights when they don't go down. Thankfully we are good enough to beat mediocre teams when our shots aren't falling. CJ and BJ are a nice compliment to each other.

I didn't see the game last night, but what I have seen this year, I would like to see him drive to the basket more instead of just shooting three's. Kind of in the same way that Dolleman became more effective when he was a threat from the inside and the outside. You can't argue with his sucess when he is on though.

BJR shoots a flat 3 ball, but often is on auto pilot. last night he was a little strong to the back of the rim, mostly, toe to the three line, if he was back a little probably would have been made. one 3 off line, mostly looked in rythmn,one shot double clutched and one shot he ball faked, dribbled in for 2, clang!

I concur with those who said that BJ was just off last night. The one shot he did make was very timely. BJ usually runs hot or cold depending on what that first shot of the night does. Last night he missed his first shot and was struggling thereafter. He seemed to square up okay and had good rotation on the ball, they shots were just too hard. He needs to develop ad 12-15 foot shot. He has shown a bit of that shot and driving to the hoop on occasion this season, but so far he primarily lives and dies by the three ball. His defense in my estimation is still shaky, but he's working on it.

The last two games, BJ has not shot well, as really has no one on XU from 3 point range. The shots I've seen have been good shots, with the exception of maybe one forced one against UMass. Despite that, Xavier has still won ball games.

Being a big, big believer in percentages, and that water will find its mark, I have great confidence in the upcoming St. Louis game. The precentages will even out just as they have at other times during the year. Because of the idea that there are some "pent up makes" that will be showing soon, I like our chances to score plenty against St. Louis and St. Joes.

That is unless St. Louis finds a way to A). Lock up the Savvis Center and not allow Xavier to even enter the building until 5 minutes before tipoff or B). They are able to install an undetectable, invisible force field over the basket that Xavier is shooting at.

Maybe Majerus has so much wind in that huge body of his, he can blow shots from the opposing team off course?
