My Bro sent me this link, so I must give him credit.

My thoughts are this:
Is this guy for real? He doesn’t even mention the win over Memphis in the article (surprise..) and he acts as if our balance is a negative. How’d that balance work out last year? Pretty good, I think.
To prove what an ill-informed moron this guy is, he mentions Charlotte as a team we will struggle with on the road. Yea, Charlotte at 1-6 really scares me. Especially after losses to quality teams like Old Dominion, Appalacian State and CS Fullerton.
Another talking head without a clue.

Re: Getting some hate from sports writers
Considering that the other choices were Davidson, Kansas and ND, that's not a bad group to be in.
Nothing he said about X was incorrect. He's obviously only looking at the downside, but that's what the question was about--who's playing well now but might not be later?

he made is sound like mizzu and VT are like some terrible schools. they are big BCS schools. and i love how he shows love for the memphis game. that article just made me a little angry. wonder if any of the players got a hold of that. get some fire in their butts and get them back rolling for UC and Duke.

Re: Getting some hate from sports writers
We're all happy with X's success so far, but let's be honest, most of our games have been a struggle. The VT game was clearly lucky, and Mizzou might not shoot FT's that poorly again this season.
So, X has taken advantage of its opportunities, but it's not like we're rolling over teams. We've won our last 4 games by a total of 17 points.
You can argue that X is winning at less than peak efficiency offensively, and now without a legit PG. OR you can argue that things are falling our way in ways that might not continue.
We'll find out.

Re: Getting some hate from sports writers
I wouldn't really call that "hate", the guy was asked a question and presented what information was beneficial to him in what I considered to be an unbiased manner. Yea, he didn't mention the fact that we beat Memphis, but when your attempting to convince an audience that this team won't be in the top 25 at the end of the year, why would you.
Do I like when people talk about us like that? No, but press is press, and it wasn't like he said we weren't going to win a game the rest of the year. Mr. Neutral is right. We are a good team, but there are several things we need to improve on before this year is over. I have confidence that Sean and the rest of the coaching staff will do just that (whether Jamel's free throw shooting will be one of those is yet to be determined...hehehe)

Re: Getting some hate from sports writers
I hate to say it but I agree with this guy.... for now. We have a young team that lost 3 valuable seniors that were strong leaders and I guess you could call them "go to guys".. (Stan more of a go to defensive guy).
Has this team developed a go to guy yet? probably not. Will they yes historcally with Sean's team's they get stronger as the season goes on and are at their best come tournament time.
Is he correct on how or why we beat VT or Mizzuo, and yes we did beat Memphis? Probably. Come RPI time at the end of the year a win is a win and a BCS school is a BCS school. When ESPN puts up schools they beat or good wins and schools the lost to or bad losses all three of th PR wins will be "good wins"
Does X need to improve on their shooting from the perimiter and the free throw line? yes. What team doesn't? We have never run our offense through the perimiter so that offsets the first part of his point and the FT % will improve over time but really it is about the attempts. The more attempts the more chances to make them and it also gets the other team in foul trouble.
This is not the BCS. Our year end ranking does not matter. The only thing that matters is getting to the dance.

Hey, DETROIT, I noticed your name and I live in the Canton area. Do you know of any X bars around here where Muskies fans gather to watch them play?
My guess is that not too many X grads venture up to Michigan for their employment opportunities..............
But it's worth a shot.

I really can't disagree with the article. But we are still undefeated, and once Holloway is back, I'll feel better about this team. We're not going to go undefeated this season and almost anyone we lose to, short of it being Duke, will cause us to slip in the rankings.
