Sounds good but coaches have worries.

MM,
Much of what they are talking about in that piece has been done at Xavier for years, thanks to Pete Gillen, Skip Prosser and Sean Miller and of course Sister Rose Ann Fleming. And the old "schools can't afford it" is just so much BS.

This may be the cause of resentment of the coaches at smaller schools.

What is the cost the athletic academic excellence?
Is it worth it?
Is it fair?
Should it continue?
Where will it end?
What is the NCAA stand on this?
Should they step in and monitor these activities?
Inquiring minds want to know.

A disclaimer here : I think Stephen William Hawking should be wearing the #1 jersey.

Note to file:

Because of all of Oh-ho-ho State's one and dones, Beaknose will lose scholarships this year, more if Mullins leaves.

Side note - Iknow its early, but speaking of Mullens after two games he is not exactly tearing it up. Against Del St. he had seven points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes and against Bowling Green he had 2 points and 1 rebound in 11 minutes. That averages 4.5 points and 2 rebounds per game. I know that he is waaaaaay better then that. Some of Koufus's people claimed that Matta held him back (mostly in playing time) in an effort to keep him for more than one year. I do not necessarily agree with that, but Mullens only playing about 15 minutes a game against cream puff teams does not seem right. Now, maybe when they actually play some good teams he will shine. Hmm.
