what time is the game on Sunday and where can we watch it?
I thought I heard Bally Sports.
also read a tweet that OSU, XU, Dayton, and I am blanking on the 4th school - all the coaches had a conference call about playing each other every year and rotating who plays who. can't find the tweet and I can't remember the 4th school.

actually it was UC also so I'm guessing we would be playing Dayton and OSU on a rotating basis because we are always gonna play UClongliveskip wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 7:29 amwhat time is the game on Sunday and where can we watch it?

X beat UD. 98-74. X made 12- three. Zac score 17 and 6. Marcus foster scored 15
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Xavier v Dayton, Sunday
I get this was just an exhibition but X looked good. finally have some dudes that can knock down 3's. ability to spread the floor, drive and kick to open guys. UD didn't even let us play as fast as we wanted at times because they picked up full court and didn't allow us to get the ball out and go immediately but yet we still scored 98 on them. they had some "bigs" but Hunter and Free played well defensively even when undersized. Hughley I know has lost a ton of weight but didn't seem yet to be in the shape we need him to be able to play the pace Sean likes, so it may take him awhile to get there, but he still will end up being a 12-15 min a game type of player.
our lack of size may hurt us at times when other teams have dominant bigs, but our perimeter D and ability to score should keep us in games vs. teams like that.
i'm excited for this X team.
gonna be a fun season.

Xavier had seven in double figures after a box score correction.
Dayvion McKnight was credited for two points that should have gone to Zach Freemantle.

Agree, Lassina’s loss is huge and a shame for him and us. Would have given us perfect depth and flexibility in the post. But good Lord are we deep, and with oodles of shooters. One comment from Muskie Madness scrimmage that I attended is, Cam Fletcher is bigger than I expected. Slightly taller than Dailyn, but thicker - yet such an explosive athlete. Explosive & powerful yet nimble. Glad they are not rushing him but he seems close. Just wanted to pass that along for you out-of-towners.
As for UD game, we avalanched them in waves. Lots to like but my two cents- nice to have a talent like Dante Maddox to bring off the bench. He plays with a major ‘Tude and is able to create his shot anytime and plays intense D. Finally, going to be very hard for the coaches to keep Marcus Foster off the court. Reminds me of Justin Cage, only a bit stronger.
Blue collar dude that imposes his will. Love it

While we see the final score and think Yeah, this team can score, but everything isn't all peachy. Free had to play 24 minutes, and Hugley 19. Hugley might have gotten more minutes, but he was a foul machine, and, had it been a real game, he would have fouled out after 16 minutes. Rome was given limited minutes, which was a wise move, but he was very productive and played good D. It Looks like the 5 will be by committee between Free, Hugley, and Rome. It was nice to hear Joe and Byron on 55 KRC, and they could not be more effusive of the new guys.

Re: Xavier v Dayton, Sunday
I was at the game and I agree with Muskieman. Our guards and transfer guards were too much for UD. Foster was really impressive. The only real negative I took from the game was the play of Hugley and our depth on the frontcourt. Losing Lassina is going to be huge especially in the BE since Free and Hunter are 4's and Hugley still looks out of shape. Swain and Foster will have to guard bigger guys. Always nice to watch UD fans bitch and complain about refs at a scrimmage.
