I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

A close 3rd with contract renegotiations a few years prior to number 2 is a great spot to be in. Hopefully X can figure out how to retain talent and excel on the court somewhere between now and the new contract. Not that the league is dependent on X but would be good to know we are pulling our weight.
