Postby muskieman » Tue Feb 13, 2024 3:06 pm

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14, 2024 AT 7:00 P.M. ET
PRUDENTIAL CENTER IN NEWARK, N.J

TV CBS Sports Network with play-by-play from Andrew Catalon and analysis from Steve Lappas.
Xavier Radio: 700 WLW-AM

X has won three in a row coming into the ballgame, with last game at Cintas and an X win 74-54
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Vegas has the over under points scored by Abu, Ciani, and Lazar at 4. Most are taking the under. Over/under on Rebounds by Ciani 1.5, that’s a tough one.

The last 7? games of the season are critical now. The more wins the better. Without a lot of wins the rest of the season, X may need to win the BE tournament to be in MM??? At the moment X is not even on the bubble of the 68 teams to be selected.

At this stage, we do not even merit contemplating the “bubble”. A road kill tonight permits those lofty dreams to be rekindled. I am hopeful but will have to honker down in my magic chair tonight and see what unfolds.
In Sean I trust.

Seton Hallś play recently has been flat not the usual intensity on either side of the ball. Letś hope it remains that way. X needs to do a lot of winning in the remaining games and without a strong showing in the Big East tourney I think we will miss March Madness. Truthfully the NIT maybe the best place for this team this year. It looks as if the Pre Season polls for the league will ban out. UCONN, Creighton and Marguette at the top and GT and Depaul at the bottom and the rest us battling for the other spots. I like the way Butler is playing and they will be a test for us on the road. In any event I believe Sean got the most out of this team considering our talent level, youth and poor low post play. GO X!!!

The margin of error for an at-large bid, taking into consideration X's strong SoS and good advanced stats/rankings, is probably 14 losses.

So, 5-2 the rest of the way + maybe a win or two in the B.E. tournament. Not easy, but doable. 19-14 may do it and I think 20-14 definitely will do it. Obviously a win over Marquette would help too.

Two points in 8 minutes. I don't know what is worse.... the news Ohio State might be after Miller or the start to this game.

As bad as Seton Hall has been playing I knew that would come out ripped tonight but this is jsut an awful performance by X. We have been exposed no half court offense no low post play and just too easy to defend. Teams just need to defend one& half guys from the outside. Tgis reminds me of the UCONN game just awful.
