How about Lavender?

Drew was awesome and we'll miss him next year. It amazes me that a 5'7" player can shoot 3's, drive to the hoop among the "trees", and handle full court pressure.
Lately, he's even rebounding.
Drew is my favorite player to watch and he was huge today.

Drew is the key to how far this team will go in March. We have a lot of quality players on this years squad who are all capable of taking over a game, but he is the most important of all of them. He runs offense so well and does such a spectacular job of finding the open shooters. It is definitely going to be hard without him next year, but lets hope we aren't looking forward to that for a long time (knock).

Pretty funny, after X drubs ud and Drew scores only there, we got Oh my God, what is wrong with Drew. Now today we get, Wow is Drew great. Did you forget that he had three fouls early and sat out the last 9 minutes of the 1st half versus ud? That may have had something to do with his overall production. But, X won and that's all that matters.

Hey folks, I have been saying all season, don't look at each game and draw conclusions about players and coaches. Look at the body of work over the enitre season. Drew has been clutch all year and when you look back on this year whenever it ends, you will be certain that Drew Lavendar will be rated the best point guard to ever wear a XU uniform.

All this at 5'7". At that Height, you have to be that much better than everyone else.

I don't know why his having been a McDonald's All-American has any bearing on whether he is the best ever or not. That seemingly would be judged by what he did in an XU uniform, not in his HS uniform (or, for that matter, his Sooners uniform).

At any rate, I think we've been blessed with some pretty great PGs in our time. I don't know that I (or anyone) could pick on just one. But that's not in any way intended to discount what Drew has done. Today was yet another great game in his illustrious XU career to date. I'm certainly glad he chose us, and he will be missed immeasurably whether he is the "best" PG to ever don the uniform or not.

As odd as it sounds Drew tallied more rebounds (7) than any Flyer on the court Thursday night. And today he outrebounded EVERYONE with 9!

The big dance is where legends are made. The run is why Chalmers will always be on the list of greatest PGs. I think that Lavender does a better job at getting what he needs to get done done on a regular basis than Chalmers did. Chalmers had his moments throughout his career, but then he really turned it on at the right time. If Lavender turns it on for the tournament, i.e. if he gets even better or gets in the zone, then all other teams should beware. If he is on, everything else will just fall in place.

If that doesn't happen, then he will be remembered as just another talented PG at X.

I really want him to go off though! He has the talent. There are, of course, numerous other factors at play as well.
