Stan's comment...

"That's the thing about playing us," Xavier guard Stanley Burrell said. "We've got so many options."
Does anyone else wish this would have been worded differently? I think it is dangerous when we start to listen too much to what the press says about us. It is true, but it could have come off a bit less arrogant if it had been worded something like, "That's the thing I like about our team...we've got so many options."
It seems we always lose the game following a statment such as this one.
But a great win, and I hate to spoil it by complaining.

Who cares about this comment? Its true, we do have a lot of options. And the fact that sb realizes this does nothing to diminish anything about his game or the team. Stop worrying so much.

And what was the question?
His statement was onviously in reply to a question.
So maybe the question was this"
"Stanley, you didn't score very much tonight. What is your reply to that?"
Or maybe the question was:
"Stanley, Xavier didn't score a lot from three point range. What do you think?"
It's all in the question, and I certainly do see anything wrong with what he said. Beside, do you think his comment is "bulletin board" material? For who?

This quote from #34, senior guard, stanley burrell, xavier musketeers, has more merit than the comments we post as spectators at the cintas center on bud light...or...on the couch with remote control...no problemos

I think I'd be more concerned with Stan's quote in this mornings paper. A sure-fire way of creating team disharmony is to make statements like that and then turn around and play the way he played today.

I don't think Stan's comment was particularly inflammatory. Every opposing coach, and most commentators, say the same thing about X anyway.

Yeah, he should have said, "We
have so many options."

I don't know what the statement was in response to, I agree that it is true, I don't think the comment was inflammatory, I don't think it is BB material for anyone, Stan did not use correct grammar, and I am probably worrying too much. In fact, since Mr. Neutral has taken issue with my pessemistic statement, I know I am worrying too much.

What's the big deal? Just another example of not being able to sit back and enjoy a big win. The kid just spoke the truth. Hey, in case you missed it, X won by 12 at UMass today. Be happy about that and quit parsing words that the players are saying.

Is this a serious post? You guys sound like a bunch of girls. this board is going down hill fast. The guy has confidence, his team is 16-4 and should be 18-2. They do have a bunch of options and every team they play knows it. It is not like Lasalle is going to come in and even come close to X because Stan has confidence in his team. You guys need to stop nit picking every quote the team and coaches make and just enjoy the nice season Xavier is having.
