Depaul game thread
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Depaul game thread
As Coach Miller stated, #1 Javan Johnson, (15 ppg, 4.5 rebounds) and PG Umoja Gibson, (16.2 ppg, 4.8 assists) are two solid BE Players. My observation is that two other players will also bear watching today,
First, #21 Da’Sean Nelson, who is the 6th man and averages 10.8 ppg and 5.3 rebounds, many of the offensive put-back variety. The other is a wild-card, #14 Nick Ongenda. He was due to be the starting Center this year, but suffered a pre-season injury. The other evening he played his first game of the year against St.John’s in DePaul’s double OT 92-83 defeat. Ongenda played 27 of the 50 minutes, scored 11 points, snared 6 boards and blocked 8 shots. He was a very real presence around the defensive basket.
In the last X-DePaul game, the Blue Demons blocked two shots. DePaul, with Ongenda’s 8, totaled 13 against the Johnnie’s. Even during this 7 game losing streak, DePaul has been in most games until the final 4 minute war. Ongenda adds a new dimension.
Hunter and Edwards are going to need come up big to help Nunge in stifling Nelson and Ongenda.

KyKy and Edwards make up the bench today as Des and of course Kam are out. 7 man rotation and I guess Miles if we are desperate

X guards leak out too soon. They need to help on rebounds.

First things first. Tandy played well besides his one turnover. Can't seem to stay healthy though. Jones, Hunter, Kunkel and Nunge played well too. Edwards battled when he was in. How did we ever lose to these guys? Dirty play By Nelson. I'll take 49 points in a half anytime. Moving the ball well again. Thirteen assists already. Keep sharing the ball guys. Fun team to watch when they move it like that.

Twenty wins .......... alright. Hunter and Kunkel played very well. Jones and Nunge were good too. My man Edwards had 7 points and 5 rebounds and was banging in there. Great to get a win after last week. Nice to see the walk ons get on TV. The guy with the Mullet got packed pretty bad. His friends will be riding him about that. LOl. Lets hope Freemantle will get back soon. Go X.

Re: Depaul game thread
Nice bounce-back game, especially with the single-digit T.O.s, but Souley with another three. It could very easily have been a 25-point win. Edwards gave good minutes and Kyky was decent as well. I have no idea why SM put Kyky back in up 22 with three minutes left when he was obviously laboring. We already have three key guys out. Complete head-scratcher. I suspect if the opponent today was Nova instead of DePaul, Claude would have played. X definitely needs him.
BTW, I suspect Jones, Nunge, and Free are gone at the end of the year but hopefully, Hunter comes back. I think edgecliff and I were the only ones advocating for him at the beginning of the year, while the rest of the Board spewed negativity. He's living up to his H.S. accolades as a highly ranked four-start recruit for I.U., thanks to Miller the Magician.

Re: Depaul game thread
I agree with Anti-Homer regarding Hunter. I was wrong when I said he can not shoot, dribble, pass or should not deserve minutes. Miller has worked magic with him and it is all about confidence. Now I think he is a 2nd team All Big East player. I want to remind you what I said about Des, when many of you thought he was not a player. I stand by my early comment that if he stays at XU for 4 years, he will be an XU great.
