Breaking News: Announcement expected this week but Gonzaga will be joining the Big East. Despite the WCC being better then ever they said, the time has come and the Zags realize they need to up the competition. #Gonzaga
Additionally, Zag messageboards are talking about this.
Zag Podcast On Locked on Zags Gloria Nevarez said they hoped to have a decision on expansion vs staying pat in the next month.
some have suggestions of how it would look
Big East West - Gonzaga, Xavier, Butler, Creighton, Marquette, DePaul
Big East East - Villanova, UConn, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Georgetown
I think it is crazy and don't like the east-west setup.
Any thoughts?

Heard something similar, pretty crazy. Not sure I want to play Gonzaga twice.

I would love it. I remember when Nova had three or four losses before league play this yr, but didn't drop outside the top 10 in NET rankings, because they came against comparable teams to Zaga. Of course you have to win some, but a loss to the Zags often raises your NET score, especially on the road. It also makes you better, and If you aspire to be an elite program, you need to play more games against these types of teams. I don't believe it will happen though.
However, if it does, the BE will have the coaches with the 1st, 4th, and 6th best winning percentages among active coaches.

Under this alignment, everyone in the new Big East - East should be for it. Would they have to travel more than 100 miles inside their division?
