Freider-Fisher to Steele-Hayes

Not sure how often an interim coach takes a national championship. Xavier connected in two. X lost to Michigan by 5 in the first round of the NCAA in ‘89 as Steve Fisher took over the head coaching position as interim at Michigan and led them to the championship. Fisher then became the permanent head coach. Right place/right time. Sometimes you also need a little luck. Could have lost to X in the first round.

Hope we keep Hayes as the Associate Head Coach for two years, so that he can get a Power Five head coaching position. If he goes mid-major, like Cleveland State or Georgia State, he will also need a couple of years and some luck to be back on the radar. Stay with Sean; add to your resume; be more in the spotlight.

No doubt, I am selfishly thinking of his position effect on Xavier.

Lavall Jordan OUT as Butler coach. they waited 22 days after the season ended because his buyout would be SIGNIFICANTLY less. kind of d$%& move but as a business decision, i get it.

not sure if Jonas is interested or if Butler knew this was going to happen and have their guy in mind.

heard Thad Matta is a possibility.

we shall see.

I assume Hayes is going to look at the treatment and fate of Miller's most recent assistant coaches when making a decision. Might work against us.

way to take another shot at Miller. leave it alone - Book did this to himself. he has only himself to blame.

let it go.

LOL. From what I've read, Book was busted, not for paying players, but for personally accepting bribes. To argue that Miller left him high and dry is to argue he knew Book was accepting Bribes. It is believable that a head coach would know about, turn a blind eye to, and even participate in paying a player - because doing so helps the team win. But how would a head coach know an assistant was accepting bribes? And if he knew, why would he not put a stop to it, given there would be no personal benefit, and huge risk, in allowing it to continue? How does accepting a bribe help the team win? If these questions cannot be reasonably answered, then the argument that he mistreated Book is pretty silly. Miller may be guilty of other things, but it does not seem that leaving Book high and dry is one of them.

EDIT: I just read another article about Book and apparently he accepted the bribe(s) in order to entice guys to commit to AZ. This obviously changes what I said above. However, I still think it unlikely that Miller knew Book was accepting bribes. He may have known Book was arranging for players to be paid, but it seems unlikely he knew Book had taken it a step further by personally accepting the money. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this seems to be the line that was crossed that put Book in jail.

Book accepted money to give to player to sign with Dawkins company While he told Dawkins the money was going to player he was keeping the money. I am sure had Sean known that money was coming to get players to sign with Dawkins but it was kept by Book he would fired Book on the spot

To my lawyer friends out there what do you argue when the authorities pay someone to entice them to commit a crime?

Did Sean have a personal relationship with Dawkins? Seems to be conflicting reports from the different sides.

Dawkins didn't seem to think he had a personal relationship with Sean so maybe that "source" that is in conflict ought to read and listen to what Dawkins has said.
