Miller introduction

Postby muskieman » Fri Mar 25, 2022 2:38 pm

Nice attendance. Miller spoke for about 25 minutes and thanked all the expected. Made a remark about Dante not being able to dribble and roasted Lavender. Talked about Skip, Thadd, Chris, and Travis. Talked about one of his players from Zona having a one-year-old son that proclaimed he will play for Sean one day and Sean said so If I can hold on for 17 years here he will hold the player to his words. Said jokingly the kid was one year old and about 6 feet tall.

You could see he was happy and told the players how proud he was of their success. Players clapped a little, some not at all.

Sean says he has developed a good rapport with the admin even though it has changed from Bobo and Graham.

He also mentioned Dante, Jonas and Peters. While he didn't say who his staff would be those mentioned might indicate something while respecting that they are still working. Said he was impressed with Jonas job in the last two games.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

nice recap MM. Just watched a replay. Overall it was fantastic and Sean seemed sincere, ready to kick ass, appreciative and truly happy/energized. All that is terrific. We also know this will be a potential tumultuous offseason with recruiting and transfers, both in & out. Now not to read too much into this, because these are 19 to 22 year olds, but as you mentioned a couple players did not appear enthused or willing to clap. (Jack & Colby in particular) But at least they were there and in the front row, so there's that. And again, who knows, young kids like this can easily look bored and disinterested for multiple reasons - might have nothing to do with the new Coach. I did not notice Free at all, was he there by chance? Maybe I just missed him. Kam Craft re-committing is a huge first step. We shall gladly take that as a solid sign and see how it plays out. Obviously to make a stellar omelette - you have to break a few eggs.

Jack and Colby might be like a very small minority of X fans who can't believe we hired a guy who:

1. Insulted our school and program on his way out the door last time

2. Has 5 pending Level 1 violations at his prior job

We have hired Will Wade 2.0. The only difference is Miller used to coach here.

You sir, although 110% entitled to your well thought out opinion, are in the minority. Had X not hired Sean, another Power 5 hungry program would have. The "Lexus" comment, seriously? After that, fairly harmless comment, Sean was always complimentary of X. And calling us a Buick, not really an insult, and sort of was true. Grow up a bit dude. He made mistakes at Zona and will need to face that music. So much line-bending in the NCAA these days, does not make it right. Yet if a man is caught, is humbled and learns, are we not Christian enough to forgive - or should we tar & feather him and ban him for all eternity? I do not recall hearing that he ***** 17 coeds or went on a mass murder spree, please correct me if I missed that. Once again, I'm sure you speak for a certain % of the fan base. I for one am just X-Tremely glad the majority feel as I do.

X-luc,

You're too smart to not notice a UC troll. On a completely unrelated note:

It is like someone who was an unabashed supporter of Harvey Weinstein and Jeff Epstein moralizing. At least he can still sleep well at night knowing they will forever be known as UNLV East.

Free was there, second-row right side as you look from the podium

Love your UC take. too funny considering huggins had exact same violation as Miller in 1998 and two subsequent lesser violations resulting in loss of scholarships. But when he almost went to WV the first time, UC fans were breaking down his door to stay. Lets not forget poor Danny Fortson coming out of the projects of pittsburgh with nothing but the clothes on his back only to wreck his brand new lexus before his sophomore year. Ironically from same dealership as Huggins' Lexus. Glad you could join this on March 17 a day after miller hiring. Not to mention Mick hiding his assistants indisgressions for two years until he caught. You can pose as an X fan and be a coward but we would have more respect if you just call yourself what you are-a uc Troll following a team that should have never gotten into the football playoff vs tough teams like UCF. At least they got their consolation trophy.

I guess personal attacks are a way to avoid legitimate questions about our new coach.

What is the difference between Will Wade and Sean Miller?

Our fan base would have rioted had we hired Wade.

1) Success
2) Years of personal experience

Two purdy big factors.
