Parrom Commits to X
Per Rivals, Parrom has made an verbal to X. Nice to see Miller and Boo close the deal and open the NYC pipeline.

Re: Parrom Commits to X
I thought it was interesting that he committed so early in the weekend. Hopefully he can help sway Braswell into a committment as well. I did not see Kevin last night at all, but I did see Braswell while the coaches were showing him around. Of course they had Braswell 'accidentally' bump into James Posey and introduce him to a former Xavier player with multiple NBA championships.

Great get for X. Nailing down Braswell would really complete the weekend! Congrats to Sean and his staff.

Parrom to X
Kevin Parrom has committed to X on his official visit this weekend. He is rated #84 overall in the Rivals top 150 and is a small forward. I have read think Justin Cage with a jumpshot. He is a 6-6 200 pound player from NYC (go Book!) who has transferred to South Kent Prep (CT) after an incident with coach Orlando Antigua at St. Raymonds. 'Incident' meaning punched him in the face but no charges were filed and Omari Lawrence also transferred from St. Raymonds. At one time many thought Lawrence and Parrom were to be a package deal but that obviously is not the case. We also have Chris Braswell a 6-8 PF who de-committed from Georgetown last season on campus this weekend. He is rated #78 overall and if we could snare him this weekend as well we would be more than happy to have two top 100 players in the fold for 09-10. IF DBrown leaves after this season we would have a third scholly available. Nice get coach Miller and staff on Parrom and there is a load of PT available at the small forward spot next season.

Re: Parrom Commits to X
I was looking around ESPN's recruiting pages after reading this. Has anyone noticed that Frease has shot up to a rating of 95/96 and Walsh and Lyons are now 88's? If you compare this year's top 100 to last years, it is crazy. LAst year, only the top 37 recruits were 91 or above. p This year, everyone is rated at least 91. IS the in-coming class really that good? Or is ESPN having technical difficulties??

Re: Parrom Commits to X
I think it is GREAT that Xavier was able to get Parrom to come to Xavier BUT he has a record? He hit his coach. Then left that school to go to another. Is this a red flag? I for1 know that we as Xavier fans have long had pride in the basketball program and banged our chest a time or two when it came to the topic of "thugs" at U.C. Is Parrom one of those types, that we use to say that we would never want in our program? I DO hope that the past is behind him and that this type of behavior will NOT be tolerated at Xavier!

You have very little faith in the coaching staff, don't you. Do you really think they would put up with behavior such as that?basket wrote:I think it is GREAT that Xavier was able to get Parrom to come to Xavier BUT he has a record? He hit his coach.
