Tomorrow!!
Sean will be the new head coach of X or South Carolina, source says. SC is pushing hard so source isn’t sure what he will decide. X doesn’t have a definite fall back plan if we lose out. Chad was evidently right, he was this close to accepting SC.

Re: Tomorrow!!
I'm nowhere close to being an "insider" but is it true that Miller was on campus today? Or is it just a bunch of guys blowing smoke???... I'd have to say if he was truly on campus X has the inside track... Unless the money is just stupid money... Dan

Re: Tomorrow!!
He was in Cincinnati this morning, SC in the afternoon and will be back to Cincy tomorrow. That’s why source thinks decision will be made tomorrow. But need to correct, source said SHOULD be tomorrow.

Re: Tomorrow!!
According to Broering on the 247 board, none of that is true including him being here recently, purchased a house, et. al.

Re: Tomorrow!!
While Rick broke the news about TS it does not make him the all-seeing person in the program. Unless he knows for sure he hedges his comments to go either way. I never believed that Miller bought a house in Cincy because if you are being courted by S Carolina before Travis is let go why buy a house in another city. As for being in town, more than one person has reported this and a few trusted sources of mine reported commented to me before his name surfaced. I do believe that Miller's people let X know he was interested in X and that he is inclined to come back if wanted but Sean is not foolish and keeping in touch with multiple opportunities is just good business sense. I am also sure that Sean being at an X game was designed to create an environment of communication and opportunity. Sean has used the interest in SC to leverage X and in turn SC, he is a smart cookie and his people have experience in doing this.
I am sure it is not a done deal because Sean is keeping all the fires hot. I am also sure X doesn't release Travis without a plan, if they did then the AD needs to go too. X needs to bring it home because it is theirs to lose. Greg has right now the BofD and President in agreement and if he misses that may all change.
As for Sean himself why not come back and be deemed the savior which could go a long way in rehabilitating Sean's image. One to three years and Sean could again be toward the top of the BE. I suspect we will know today or by the weekend.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Tomorrow!!
Good post MM. He was on campus because many saw him. Sean has said to many that he was happiest at X and Zona gave him too many offers that he finally went and was told by his buddie Calipari to go.

Re: Tomorrow!!
probably too late but if they really want Sean offer HIM the coach job and when if retires from Coaching at at Xavier, X makes him a VP or AD at Xavier in his retirement years...........i think that is what Kentucky did for Calipari

Re: Tomorrow!!
Now for something completely different. Make a play for Rick Patino.
Yes, he says he has a contract at Iona for 10 years, but with Xavier he's back playing in MSG on a regular basis with the national media covering every game. At Iona, he's coaching in the 2,500 seat Hynes Center in Westchester and only gets invited to the big dance if his team wins the automatic berth for a small market metro-NYC league. He gets scant coverage from the Post and Daily News, and nothing from the Times. St. John's gets the coverage as NYC's college basketball team, and it plays in the Garden.
At X, he is coaching in the Tas in a the midwestern market where he would be the prime celebrity coach of any sport around. He'll be back in the most successful basketball region in America (100 miles radius finds U.K., Louisville, Indiana, Bulter, OSU, Cincinnati, and Xavier). Only Calipari would get as much ink. There are a few good Italian restaurants in the Cincy area, and he can get a home on any number of decent golf courses.
Moreover, he's just trading the Jesuits for the Christian Brothers. He already worked for the Dominicans and ran into trouble listening to the siren songs once upon a time in Kentucky. And we all know about the trouble you once could find south of the Ohio River what with those wild women, wild horses, gambling and cheap liquor. if ya'll are good Catholics, believe in forgiveness and will give Sean as pass for his sins, why not Rick?

Re: Tomorrow!!
Sean was involved in some bad recruiting, which likely happens to various extents at all colleges, but Pitino is slime. He had a lot more scandals and not all were recruiting or even hoops related. Sure he can coach but he’s a scumbag. That would as bad as some of the Bengal player signings of years ago IMO. I’m not a win at all costs guy. Sean’s reputation may not be best but Pitino’s is much worse.
