I have about as much confidence in him as I do Steele. What has he done since he's been here to give you hope? His most important task is hiring the men's bball coach. He's 0 for 1. The woman's program is floundering too.ChitownSteve wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 6:20 pmA snapshot of Xavier Basketball, both Men and Women, over the last three Seasons with Greg Christopher overseeing both Teams.

Great post Chitown and I agree with Bluegrass Xavier's Bball program has hit rock bottom and I'm assuming that we could be picked preseason 8 or 9. It has been 4 years make a change and get a seasoned coach to turn things around.

Hey Mr. Christopher, or anyone high up the totem-pole at X. Do not be complacent, we are at critical mass here and trust me, many out here in Xavier Nation have a solid idea of the landscape. Examine the lack of development, the in-game strategy & personnel blunders, the overall lack of on-court discipline both on offensive side and defensive side. The 3+ year proven trend of overall team performance regression, when every other solidly coached team in America evolves positively. Examine the AAU style offense and the lack of physicality on D. Then come to the wise conclusion that we have enough to base a coaching change decision on. The evidence is cut & dry. Only myopic fools with rose-colored glasses would surmise that if we just give it one more year.....
Now, let me do your homework for you, and I do this with humble respect. Here is our top target. trust me, he will be a hot commodity and woe be the program that hesitates: Jeff Linder, Wyoming : https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/co ... der-1.html
Trying to help here folks.

Re: GregChristopher - VP/AD
Great point Chitown.
I've been skeptical of Christopher since he came on board. His record of accomplishment was being the steward of unsuccessful sports programs at a low mid-major program at Bowling Green. It seemed as appropriate a choice as naming Steele to take over at Duke for Coach K. He woke up rounding third and headed for home, by getting the job at X. I have a feeling there is a familial or similar relationship which brought him here. His bar of success is pretty low. We will find out if he understands that:
- Missing the tourney four years in a row has not happened since 1983 is unacceptable.
-Finishing below 500 four years in a row has also not been seen at X for four decades and is unacceptable.
-Having about .300 winning percentage three years in a row and losing to prohibitive favorites three years in a row, once to a bottom feeder despite having a 15-point lead in the 2nd has never happened in my 80 years of Xavier fandom and is also unacceptable.
When a guy who was named the third most reasonable poster behind edgecliff and yours truly said last year he had to go, you know it is bad. Even former players and national commentators are asking what the hell is going on. As much as I love X, I am thrilled with today's results thus far: A & M and Indiana winning. There cannot be an excuse to retain him. Let him walk away with a couple of million dollars+ (due on his contract) and wish him. And I do. Good man, bad coach.
