NCAA Tourney

Postby Anti-Homer » Sat Feb 26, 2022 10:37 am

OSD,

Can you please fix my ability to pin threads as a Mod? Coincidentally, it stopped working after I asked Mman to pay me back the thirty dollars I lent to him. The ten $3.00 bills he gave him are not being accepted anywhere, despite supposedly being new US currency.

As the tourney draws closer, I think we should track X's NCAA tourney chances. The good: X still has a very good NET at 25, and very good SOS (I believe near top 10), and 5 Quad one victories. Also, five teams ahead of them in the NET rankings have three Q2 & Q3 losses. X only has two.

The bad: None are playing as poorly as X, as they are 1-4 in last 5 Q-1 games, and are 1-5 in last six. They are favored and will win today, and should beat G-Town very comfortably. That would put them at 19-11 heading into the BE Tourney, and will probably end the regular season at 20-12. If that is how it plays out, and none of the remaining losses comes ag GTown, Butler, or DePaul, I predict they will be the last seven seed. I correctly predicted 67 of the last 68 teams correctly before the tourney last year, though embarrassingly, I was wrong on the game times of three in the field.

The point is, all of you "Twitter Goons" need to get off of Steele's back. He and the team need our full support. Unfortunately, as a Mod, I have to be completely objective. Even though X will probably be missing Johnson again, SH will and has been w/o one of their top two players in the last ten games or so in Bryce Aiken. No excuses today. Law of averages alone says that X will win 72-67. Vegas lines will shift soon after this posting, so take X now. Mman will post his jai alai predictions for the games in Bolivia later on today, if interested.

Myself, Skyhops Jr, Mrs Skyhops and daughter Skyhops will all be at the game today. I will buy MM his pregame Zima and AH his halftime Dippin Dots if that will bring us a win.

No, we are being fans. This program deserves to be criticized after this free fall. Always want them to win and always root for a W, but this is the most disappointing season I can remember in quite some time.

I'm too much homer and not enough anti. You would think I'd learn after four years of this.

edgecliff,

I have never said this to a poster before, but this is one of the most insightful takes I have ever read on this Board. Kudos, and please post more.
