We didn't have our 3 game going but we were able to pull out a tough win on the road. Drew and the defense won it for us.

This was the biggest win of the season for two reasons. It's the best we've played on the road, and its the best we have played against a quality opponent when we haven't shot well from beyond the 3 point arc.

Good to get a win when our long balls were not going down. This game just shows how much we depend on our threes.

Xavier shot 18% from 3 point range and didn't shoot free throws particularly well - on the road against a good team. 1 made 3 pointer in the second half and that was Drew's heave at the very end. Great win to cap the month of January.

Very happy with the win. We bended but didn't crack. On the road against a good, well-coached team that's about all we can hope for. Drew and Derrick both had outstanding games, and Duncan came to play when it mattered the most. CJ and BJ struggled, but with Drew's play it really didn't even matter...

I like this win for two reasons:

1) X played for 40 minutes against a good team ON THE ROAD and won.

2) When the 3s weren't dropping they were able to take it into the paint and convert. CJ is very crafty even when surrounded by the trees. Duncan showed off his strength inside for a change or maybe for the 2nd game in a row. Brown was relentless.

Agree LA Muskie. I thought Stanley played well especially on D gurding Loew and the big maan on occasion. Let's face it. Duncan, as he has on many occasions came in and played his best at the end of the game.
Lavender was nothing short of fantastic. Ford wouldn't give the OK to foul him at the end for obvious reasons. Brown continues to grow as a player. Brown and CJ missed too many free throws. But the defensive game both played was superb. They helped hold down UMass' two big scorers.And, there's a week off to heal, rest up and get ready for LaSalle.
This team is doing a lot of the little things to win, and that's huge, especially on the road.

A great win against a pretty good team. RPI is now at 11. That's #3 seed territory, and deservedly so.

Great win on the road. Really impressed with JD's improvement. Drew, DBrown, and CJ were huge. For a second there I thought Brower was going to take over the game, we couldn't stop him.

On to LaSalle now, one game at a time. RPI will most likely take a hit over the next two games but all I want are some more wins.

These next two weeks should give us a chance to rest up. We have 2 games in 11 days before a huge stretch of 5 games coming in two weeks (FEB 10-24), three of which will be on the road.

We ask for an improved league and this is what we get. It's a good time to be a fan of Xavier baketball.
