Monday rankings update for Xavier:

AP Poll - 25 (Down 4)
NET - 21 (Down 1)
KenPom - 26 (Down 3)
Bracket Matrix - 5 seed

Do you think other top 25 teams fans are calling for their coach to be fired?

but don't you see? this is the beginning of the END! this is it. where it always falls apart (even though it always hasn't). this is always where we start losing (even though that's not true). this is where KyKy should be playing over so and so because he was BE all-frosh team (even though he's out for the year yet it's still brought up and he was compared to Bluiett. WTH???). this is where Carter shouldn't have been playing because he didn't practice when coach said practice was important (even though Carter isn't even here)

don't you see? it's all happening NOW. this is just the beginning.

don't fall for that stupid data in your post. facts means nothing.

this isn't a tournament team. we don't have good players. we don't have a good coach. it's all smoke and mirrors.

get ready for the downfall of the program in the next month.

Are you satisfied this team is playing to its highest potential?

Yes, we all know Steele is the real deal and will take Xavier to the promise land...after 3 years of wandering through the deserts. He is the man. (On a lighter note: Arizona looks to be a 1 or 2 seed at this moment. The coach that replaced Sean Miller is in his FIRST year as a Head Coach came to Arizona from Gonzaga, where he was an assistant coach for 20 years and is only 46 years old. One of the reasons given for hiring him was his ability to get and develop players from foreign countries. The Arizona roster today has a lot of foreign players on it now. Hmmm first year as a Head Coach) And yes, I know, Arizona has more $$$$ to offer any coach they get.

and the announcers the other night including the big red fellow said that the coach should be grateful to Sean because he left the cabinet not only full but overloaded with talent.

The roster at Arizona may may have been somewhat full, but it still requires "the coach" to coach and recruit and get wins thru his players....which he is doing his first year as a Head Coach. Sean Miller with all of his years of experience was to make $2.9 million this year as Arizona's Head Coach. Arizona gave their new Head Coach(never been a Head Coach) the same pay of $2.9 million his first year. That is something X will or may never be able to do for anyone. Salary $$$ will or may always lower the field of selection for some schools. It is what it is.

Travis was given a pass for the first couple years as coach because of what he didn't inherit. He was given a partial pass last year but disappointment was setting in. Same mistakes kept happening over and over. The team failed to show significant growth. Generally, fans agreed to give him another year but many were discouraged.

Being ranked is good for the program. DePaul has talent. Those facts don't however excuse the fact that the team is not executing consistently on the court. Some games it is shot selection. Some games it is about consistent effort. Other games it is lack of execution - sloppy passes, over penetrating, etc. All 3 of these issues should no longer be a problem at this point in the season.

I like Travis. He generally says the right things in interviews but he hasn't figured out how to get players to buy in during games. I do see some growth but other teams have also reduced their errors. There is no room for sloppy play, bad decisions or inconsistent effort at this point in the season. X is not yet a lock for the tournament but they will likely make it. Who has confidence they will win in the first round? They might blow out the other team but they could just as easily lose because they are not executing consistently. Playing sloppy makes a team very dependent on shooting well. Maybe Nate gets back in the groove or others get hot but that is not a strategy.
