Xavier players and Coaches

will be accepting apologies from fans that have called Travis incapable of winning or motivating his players.

Maybe you are all on the Creighton basketball boards calling for their coaches firing after being outcoached by Travis.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

One half of one game does not make Travis a good coach. One half of several games does not either. Average at best. But it’s not all on Travis. Players inconsistency both mentally and physically play into the roller coaster season. I agree with many others who hope this turns on the light and confidence for this team like the UC win did in the year of the run.

Travis has won the last three against McDermott does that make McDermitt a bad coach? I would say no but I would say Travis has his number for an "average" coach

just happens when the game thread explodes when X goes down and then suddenly goes quiet after Xavier starts a comeback. Sounds like fans that are not happy unless they can b it ch

I completely agree with this post!

X's program was spiraling downhill until Travis. In the 18 years prior, they only had:

- 3 Elite *s
-5 SW 16s
-Scores of NCAA wins and even more appearances
-Have 1 and 2 seeds

No coach in X history has had great motivational tactics like:

Komodo Dragon Chains to reward players.
Given different colored Airheads if they can quote the most lines from Pet Ventura Ace Detective.
Has developed the all important metric for determining playing time: Whomever cheers the loudest on the bench.
Implemented the chance to earn the highly coveted Tie-dye colored Jersey award if your name is not Tandy. I know my daughter's team in third grade would have loved them.
Has made the term "blank the heck out of blank" a fashionable phrase once again.
Has recruited the highest grade of recruits on Victory. Unfortunately he also has the lowest percentage of production, development, and winning percentage of said players, and the highest rate of defections, but forget that: I don't want to counter Mman's narratives with facts and astute analysis!!!
No coach in X history has been so spot on with his evaluation of players, and has been consistent throughout his career with these coach speak gems like:

Miles is the best shooter on the team (after Spain in 2020).
Bishop is going to play a significant role on this team.
Ramsey is too hurt to play (1.5 years hiatus), then he played a productive 6 or so minutes against Butler, and looked as athletic and mobile as any big man until Jalen Reynolds. He also is playing productively for Tenn State in 17 minutes a game. Want to mock Tenn State? We certainly pick a lot players like Bernard, Castlin, Welage, Gaston, Hankins, Griffin, and 22ppg Stanley from comparable programs.

After a great game last year, he said, (paraphrasing)"Tandy is going to be very important for us in the BE tourney, after he had his customary great game. But he hasn't won the all important GJ yet." I get that no one likes helicopter parents who chronically complain about PT. For some reason, the same measuring stick hasn't been applied to FreeBluiett. Go figure.
Has also said you only play if/how you practice, then played Carter virtually the whole game the following week after MISSING THE WHOLE WEEK OF PRACTICE."

Also, unlike other X coaches, Travis only loses games because the refs, announcers, vendors, and parking attendants all conspired against him. How else do you explain his teams imploding in 3 consecutive years preventing X to get into the tourney? Historic, I give you that Mman. I know, it is hard to beat juggernauts and world beaters like DePaul in 20' and Butler in 21'. There are a lot of X coaches who blew15 point lead in the 2nfd half at home to qualify for the PIG (appropriate abbreviation) to a D2 mid-level caliber team.

Also, SF is 3-0 ag. the Packers during Aaron Rodger's career, so Garafallo must be better. Is that your premise Mman???

Then, in the game thread, you call out people b/c they didn't respond quickly enough to your sycophantiish (sic) need for all to show Jim Jones level cultish love for the least successful coach in X history thus far in 40 year. Unlike you, true X fans like yours truly want X to win for the university, players, and diehard fans like me. Conversely, YOU want X to win so you can gloat. Sorry, wrong horse to bet on based on his first three years. However, as I have stated many times, I believe this is the year the great talent amassed (credit Steele for that) will overcome strategy and in-game management. I also think his unparalleled recruiting will only help his cause greater next year. I've seen this with many AAU teams.

Damn, you were making such great progress in getting over your anger wall. Now, it is as high as Shanghai Towers. Mman, please tell me you are not a defense attorney for the Innocence Project.

Agreed,

But his heart and soul are so heavily invested in X basketball. Be a Christian and cut him some slack. Truest of all X fans. You can't spell hero without Muskieman.

AH comments are certainly fragmented but few would label them thinking... he likes to call it a rock fight

HInt: when he makes such convoluted posts it is best not to read them
