Haven't followed Louisville basketball but listening to 1530 this afternoon Mo mentioned that Mack is in trouble. So I googled and found...

The "Spun" reporting UL Board of Trustees and Athletics Board (whatever that is) meeting scheduled for Weds. afternoon. Mack's radio show scheduled for tomorrow evening has been cancelled. Sure doesn't look like a surprise contract extension will be forthcoming. But, does what we know publicly about the team and what has transpired so far this year, support mid season termination?

Wondering if anyone on this board can add perspective.

BREAKING: Louisville has fired head coach Chris Mack.

Mack, 52, has served as the UL head coach since 2018. The Cardinals are 11-9 on the season, and have lost 4 of their last 5.

As Seth Davis Hoops reports, Chris Mack will not return as Louisville's head coach, a source confirmed. Official announcement expected for Wednesday.

Assistant Mike Pegues is expected to be Louisville's interim head coach, starting with Saturday's game against Duke.

Hmmm. I wonder if he could assume the chair that the irreplaceable Matthew Graves used to sit in? Shot selection & discipline and accountability were pretty damn good under his rein, even though I love seeing Nunge and Free shooting 25 foot wing treys.

I think Chris has "pro assistant or advance scout" written all over him (gotta figure out what Curry and James are doing on the court).
