Committed to X for 2022-23 class

Postby muskieman » Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:57 pm

Dante Jackson the lead recruiter on four-star 6'5", 190-pound ranked 88 point guard who chose Xavier over offers from Rutgers, Louisville, Memphis Kansas, and others. Desmond Claude has good length and is smooth and has a good handle and with Claude added to the mix along with Kam Craft and Tyrell Ward X has a very good class coming in next year. Before Claude's commitment, Xavier had the No. 30 recruiting class in the country

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Common to look at the ranking of these commits, I prefer to look at who else offered, and this one was sweet. Welcome Desmond & thank you for choosing X and our community. I recall a time not too long ago, maybe like 8 years ago, this board would have lit up with this news. I guess not anymore. Still lights me up - pumped as this makes for a nice trio in the fold. Now on to Marquette.

looks pretty solid.

not sure who else we will lose besides Paul and Nate (transfers?) but i'm guessing we may end up with someone from the portal as well. hopefully a "big".

I guess a HS junior is far enough along to warrant a reasonable assessment. I'll never forget that local LaSalle kid that UC offered as a freshman, who had the offer pulled as a senior because he never developed. He ended up at Bowling Green.

Adam Finkelstein

Putnam Science & Expressions 4-star guard Desmond Claude has committed to Xavier.

▪️good perimeter size & physical tools
▪️3 range scoring threat
▪️multi-positional on both ends
▪️developing lead guard skills

Will draw some Paul Scruggs type comparisons from Xavier fans.

If the analysis on him is accurate, this is a great get. Given the schools after him, many must feel he is legit. Seems to be a great class coming in.

Great get. Credit Steele and staff for doing a hell of a job recruiting guards and wings, and also getting a couple of good bigs from the transfer portal. Now, they need to focus on getting productive post players. BTW, though he plays in a lower conference, Ramsey is avg 8/4 in 17 minutes a game at Tenn Tech. Steele insinuated his legs were like butter. Happy he pulled a Forrest Gump with his rejuvenated legs.
