Doubled his salary and better place to live. If he succeeds here he's likely bound for an ACC or SEC fball school payoff down the road.

First off congrats to Kelsey for the LATERAL move!! That being said didnt he say just no more than a month ago that he LOVED Winthrop? Didnt he say no more than a month ago that he loved the city where Winthrop is? Didn't he say no more than a month ago he wasn't going any where? Didnt he a couple years ago accept a job and then 24 hrs later turn it down? If these comments are factual then I find it interesting some on here are giving the "local guy" love but when a XU coach does it hes a "sell-out"! Come on man!!!!

Major coaches are ONLY accepted and loved by most of the fans because they WIN games and get the program to the next level or keep the program at a great level. Once the coach starts putting up L's vs W's , the fans and donors quickly turn on the coach and want them OUT. This is true for almost every major and or minor program. Coaches are loved for winning and what have you done for us lately . Very good to great coaches stay or go to the next job , which ever school shows them love and the next major guaranteed dollar salary. The rule is rack up wins and major tournament wins or be fired. Some coaches are smart enough to move on while the grass $$$$$$ is greener some where else. That is why there are dozens of Head coaches jobs available every year.

More money, better program and a better place to live sounds great to me.

Generally I don't have a problem with coaches leaving nor would I expect them to be fully honest while the season is in session.
