What could change my mind?

Seems more people here want Travis fired without a clear choice for a replacement that would bring us back to a top 10 team. Just fire and that will make X great again.
The questions I would want to hear someone ask Travis are direct so it would take a person that will not be rolled because of their association with the program "What lessons have you learned from this year's failure?" and the follow-up Qs, "going forward what changes need to be made to make X more than just a competitive team? Can we see a shakeup in staff, players, in-game strategy, and/or philosophy?" Are you committed to looking at how the program has failed to move forward over the last few years? I don't want to hear about how nice and friendly people are on staff but what they will do to change and create a better team from the manager to the strength coach to the coaches.
I will probably never hear the questions or the response

we have 3 years of actual coach and player performance, coaches recruiting, 3 seasons of a won -loss records, and lots more. I have NO need to ask the coach any questions about what else he might do. Also this is NOT all about the coach, but players performance at critical times and against better teams....you either get the job done or NOT...and against better teams...the overall results have been not good.

I expected that answer from you, Ron.

And why did he play Carter in the Butler game? And also, why did he lose the Butler game?

good questions maybe because he scored 10 points in the last Butler game and had more experience than his replacements in a big east game in MSG? The second question is more complicated but one point might be they were without Nate Johnson and his total18 points he scored in the prior Butler games but that could have been negated had Jones scored some points in the second half after scoring 10 in the first half

There is no defending Carter and his play in 2021 and Steeles weird fascination with him. Nate’s absence did make a difference especially on defense

I really like those kinds of questions. I often wonder why coaches don’t get asked and answer those kinds of things more often.
To me there are two kinds of coaches. There are ones that learn and evolve and change based on their team. And the mick cronins and Marvin Lewis’s of the world. Those that have their own style, announce we “do things our way” and never change. This intrinsically limits what you can do with a team and I HATE when coaches act that way.
Steele is starting to come off as maybe that type

Losing Nate hurt for sure but bottom line butler had injuries too, is a flat out bad team, and had nothing to for. It was a full on must win for us and we choked away a 19 point lead. That’s a top to bottom team problem which comes down to the head coach in college sports.
