The first half of the GT game shows that this team’s failure to start the games we lost with ferocity is the primary reason for the disappointment. NO coach should be held responsible for the players inability to get that.
In the huddle Steele was chewing their heads off screaming at them. They finally got the message a few minutes into the second half. Result a valiant comeback going from down 19 points to just 3 with only 2 minutes left. Then the wheels came off with GT’s bigs asserting dominance & Xavier executing poorly & pathetic turnovers.
Anyone who has ever played competitive sports has had the shocking experience of just how much more intense a competitive game is as opposed to even a very fierce intra-squad scrimmage. Barb
