Noticed in today’s Chicago Tribune that Margaret “Maggie” Griffin, age 99, passed away. She was the Mother of our departed friend, Gary, aka “Mr. Neutral” on this Board.
May she Rest In Peace.

Re: Mr. Neutral’s Mom
I am sure Gary was there to meet her. GOD bless her soul
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I wish I could have known Gary. He seemed to be a high quality human being. And also his Mother and Sister.

Re: Mr. Neutral’s Mom
I was in Gary's class at X, and I can attest he was a great guy. He was easily as funny as his famous sister. Years later, I saw him at an Alum reception in Indy after a game, and honestly my face hurt from laughing after about 20 minutes. He knew his hoops, was funny as hell, and a very nice guy.edgecliff hall wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:55 pmI wish I could have known Gary. He seemed to be a high quality human being. Condolences to Neutral's family. He and I sparred a lot, and though it sometimes became animated, it never got personal, nor lingered to the next topic. When did he graduate, and who was his sister? I just know he worked in public office as a DA I believe.JTG wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:49 pmI was in Gary's class at X, and I can attest he was a great guy. Re: Mr. Neutral’s Mom
Many thanks Gundun for the photo plus obit. I've had some good Chicago friends from Xavier and the Army. Wish Gary could have been one of them. Thanks again for your kind response.
