Our numbers reflect poorly in all 3 categories: 3 pointers, 2 pointers as well as free throws! My question: Is it a function of hand/eye skills? Ray Charles can see we are loaded with young men with tremendous athletic skills. I believe they work their tails off at practice perfecting all three categories of shots. The only conclusion I can come up with is skill and surely confidence plays a huge part. Any thoughts?

I think it's a near miracle anytime the ball goes in the hoop. Impossible, crazy, wild when it's a three pointer.

Shooting is a function of form and practice. Generally guys are locked into their technique at this stage so it is rare to see huge improvements. If the player has solid form and just hasn't put the repetitions in then there is greater growth potential but more often shooting percentages go up because shot selection improves or the player gets better at creating space either with or without the ball.
