Just dreaming about playing both Jones and Freemantle at the same time. High/Low could be really powerful.

Plus four more players. That ought to do it.

Yep...hopefully he does develop quickly and fully enough to rotate in and give the others rest breaks, because I also think that having Jones and Freemantle on the floor together could be a nice lineup.

The two bigs as an option, would definitely give opponents something else as a preparation. Carter is or should be the perfect 4. Inside, outside and rebounding. So far we have only had one game from him where all of those things were present, but he did help win games with his FT’s. He can also help by bringing the ball up the court, as did West and Doellman. Late in the game with his FT percentage, he should be in the mix to bring it up and get fouled.

Having said all that, with Carter’s inconsistency, Zach is providing as much as Carter—the inside game and probably a bit better. Let’s give it a try. Against UConn we played three bigs the final OT by necessity. Against certain Big East teams, three bigs, Marshal and Scruggs might be an option. Our defensive strategy, though, might need to change with a big lineup. Over the Christmas break I would anticipate a few new wrinkles. We have yet to see any kind of a half court zone. With multiple bigs, we might see the occasional zone. Having depth this year and so many options is such a terrific plus.

i like this option but i'm guessing Travis has spent so much time shoring up the man to man defense (and they're buying in and getting it) that he doesn't want to create too many mismatches. i'm not sure if it was Mack's "thing" to use the 1-3-1 but i'm guessing it wouldn't be bad to have Jones in the back, Freemantle in the middle, Scruggs or Naji up top with their length and any other two on the wings. would be a nice change of pace on defense and would give us a chance to use both bigs. however, it would hinder us on offense a little as a little as neither one of those guys can play on the wing.

just my thoughts.

If Carter doesn't start playing better I'd expect Freemantle's minutes to increase. There is no issue playing him at 4 as long as foul trouble doesn't become an issue.

I do love Carter's consistency at the line. I suspect his shot will return soon. He is not playing with confidence at the moment but hopefully that changes soon. He needs to hit a few shots and he will probably relax and add a much needed outside threat.

I think TS will try and get Carter into situations that can help him be successful which is to be hoped will turn him around. I think if he can take it to the rim and get more foul calls it would help him see the ball go through the hoop in due time. His inside game has not been drawing fouls, as last year, and he has been leaving to many bunnies died at the rim. I think Freemantle will get more minutes 20-22 seems good but I am sure situations will dictate Ramsey could be a key if they can get him to be productive on the glass and protecting the rim. Making Jone, Carter, Freemantle and Ramsey a coordinated threat would make more shots for everyone
