A snoozer at the Cintas

I don't recall a more quiet game at the Cintas. It starts with the crowd, the student section was less than half full, the players seem to lack any killer instinct. The traditional stand until the first made shot was weak. Halftime was two college kids playing tic tac toe. Not sure who is feeding off who, but the energy level and environment last night was an F.

Saturday, with all the corporate season ticket holders now buying the high priced seat license, I suspect there will be more than a couple red shirts, I am calling out the Xavier Nation to wake up and drive the energy level. The Cintas is a tough home court but not what I saw last night regardless of who the opponent is.

Everybody looked pumped up on my 4x4 Fox2 screen. Good to have a guard who can hang onto the ball and shoot a three. Hope we don't injure him too much.

Maybe everyone’s bored with a schedule that hasn’t been very challenging. That should change on Saturday and beyond. Defense looked passive, shooting and finishing around the basket were not that good. There’s a lid on that rim for Carter. At least turnovers were in the acceptable range.

Agree it seemed quiet and was told by someone the same who attended. Would disagree that it starts with the crowd as it starts with the players and play on the court. As Byron said, hard to get crowd into a game with the way X played-porous D and bad shooting. Hopefully that wont be the case on Saturday.

My grandson is a freshman and an avid sports fan. He was at the game but told me that the reason the students were not there was because finals week is upcoming and a lot of students were studying. He assured me they will all be there for the UC game, but that the students are not allowed to camp out all night before the UC game again because of Finals week next week.

BTW, IMO Carter has the basketball version of the Yips! He looks afraid to shoot and has lost confidence in his shot. Hopefully he can get it back for the UC game.

Carter has definitely been backsliding the last several games. Maybe time to go to a smaller lineup now that KyKy is available. We have gotten zero production from our two transfers the last two games.

Really? Moore was 0-2 last night. The rest of his teammates chucked up 31. He's an anomaly on this year's team because he doesn't force shots. The previous game, he scored nine points, on 3 for 6 shooting. He has the best 3 point shooting percentage on the team, and has a 2:1 assist/t.o. ratio. He is the epitome of consistency. He needs more minutes, along with Tandy.

not sure I'd say ZERO production. Moore has still played decent D and in the Lipscomb game, he was 3-6 for 9 important points. Carter had 5 points, 5 points and 3 blocks against Lipscomb. As much as I like and wish we still had either Hankins and/or KC had their games where their stats were not that good. Remember the shootout and KC's 27 minutes shooting 0-5. Of course, we would all like to see Carter play like he played against X last year but maybe when someone else is off he will be that guy. osd don't fall into the trap of being like AH
