Musketeer Madness

Xavier starters: Tyrique Jones, Jason Carter, Quentin Goodin, Paul Scruggs, Naji Marshall. KyKy Tandy is not dressed for the game. Daniel Ramsey is wearing his uniform and doing some shooting around but no word on if he's cleared yet.

X is so much better with Scruggs at the point and with the ball in his hands. We went on a scoring run when Q went to the bench.

Once again Goodin decides to take two threes and drives to the hoop with 3 defenders. I know he is a senior, but we have options and he could easily be a sub.

Naji costs us 3 points by grabbing the ball after Jone's layup.

The usual suspects, Marshall and Goodin, keeping the opponent in the game.

Lots of shots at rim have been short. 38-25

Q and Naji seem like they have no plan when they get the ball. We still can't shoot but our defense is really good. I'd keep Scruggs at PG and Moore and SG.

I can't recall a player like Marshall at X, who can look like the worst player on the floor in a 4 minute span, then the best one in the next four. I'm not seeing the latter has been shown tonight. He is an excellent passer, defender, and rebounder. He just plays out of control, and can't shoot off the dribble unless it's a lab. He still hasn't developed making a lab with his left hand. Freemantle even shoots effectively with his left hand.

Townson is on the wrong side of mediocre, but X's defense was suffocating again. Goodin ended up with a decent game (hopefully it slows down some poster's relentless, though deserved criticism), but four treys is too many for him. Scruggs asserted himself as the player who is playing the best, and Moore shows that he is more than just a great defender. Best overall game of the season.
