With the Alabama loss tonight, if X gets a road kill at Texas they will have a home game that could send them to MSG.

I went to the game last night - the atmosphere was electric, even with a smaller crowd than normal.
If you were there, does anybody else think that the Rocket mascot looks like a Power Ranger?

I was there.
Attendance was just under 5,800.
Agree - thought the noise level was pretty decent and few 2nd half dunks really ignited the crowd.
We had great seats - section 101. 4th row.
I had a little pre-game interaction with Rocky - the TU mascot.
Power Rangers - maybe but the flavor of the day currently is PJ Masks.
Except those are all animals so I guess a rocket wouldn't fit.
It was a little weird to see opposing team cheer squad at the game but it was a tournament game
Fun night

Good win for X but TU did have 2 key players out - the Jackson's - Marreon and Willie.
The former is their point guard.

i thought i read they had 3 starters out.

lack of depth (basically playing 6 guys) took its toll on them. heck, we actually PRESSED a little bit and it worked. they had no legs by about the 12 min mark of 2nd half and it showed.

not sure if we have to worry about a hostile crowd in Texas (Saturday at 4 pm on ESPN) but they had 1700 at their first game.

I liked the press too.
Basically they had 3 guys scoring - the one big (#35) shot well from 3 (45% for the year).
And 2 guards - #32 and #13.
I thought they just had 2 guys out of action.
Hope the weather is beautiful in Austin on Sunday so folks can go out and enjoy it rather than sit in dungy gym watching basketball. ;)

I thought Q played a decent game overall, but I don't think I've ever seen a guy hit 2 long jumpers, and also shoot 3-4 airballs in only 11 shots in the same game. Two were really errant, and I think one hit a guy walking to the bathroom in the 8th row. I really think it's the way he holds the ball. He doesn't seem to shoot it the same way all the time. Paging Dr. Redford.
