If I could, I'd go just to see the new arena. ( 22hr 23min 1,492mi) The game would be frosting on the cake.

It's a great arena, IMO
Went on the Musketeer Club bus trip last March.
It was a fun trip.
Unfortunately not going to be able to make it this year.
Too much going at the end of the year.

The Wintrust is an upgrade over the old Allstate Arena. Overall, it is pretty good, but does not favorably compare to the Cintas Center.

When there are decent crowds (which do not often occur at DePaul games), the concourse areas are far too narrow. One of the concession spots, across from the home bench blocks concourse passage. Many upstairs seats have partially obscured views because of the ridiculous metal trim placed on top of, and on the sides of, all the safety glass installed in the second level.
I am certain this gem of a problem was created by an apparent relative new Ordinance requiring the metal passed by the illustrious Chicago City Council. Surmising this new feature was imposed to “create jobs” for their labor friends and preferred contractors. The United Center never had that requirement and sight lines are not obscured.

While the attached parking garage is nice, again it fails the test of serving reasonably sized crowds (those over 6,500 or so) and exiting is a nightmare in those instances.

As a season ticket holder, it is not awful, but as with so much in Illinois and Chicago proper, it falls short. The seats in the lower level are pretty good. Hoping all have a good experience.

Looking forward to hearing the assessment of the Wintrust Arena by those who attend on Saturday. If you were wondering, our DePaul gear stays in the closest and we will all be in X paraphernalia. Go Muskies!

Had I not been fed up with Chicago back in '04, it would be a short trip down from the foot of Randolph, left on "Boul Mich" and another on Cermak and there I am.
I guess I should regret at least one thing about moving on and traveling around the rest of the USA. :D

ChiTownSteve forgot to mention that one of those good crowd days is Xavier at DePaul when the Xavier faithful have (for years now) nearly out numbered and certainly have out-cheered the locals. The weather looks good and this time of year, Chicago hotels can be a bargain for a great weekend.

Another reminder for those who are coming is a rather strict bag policy (here). Also, it would be reasonable to use something like SpotHero to find parking or to uber back and forth to the arena.

There is still room for a few on the bus for those who might be pondering the trip to Chicago. We'll have juice, coffee and rolls and we'll have some adult beverages for those of age. The cost is $105 which includes the roundtrip bus ride and the ticket to the game. You'll save on the parking if you ride with us. The bus leaves tomorrow morning at 8:00 from the Metro Park & Ride lot at the route 128 exit off I-275. Come one Come all. Go X!!!
